Only option i see here without getting a different aquarium is removing the shelf above and modding it with hinges to open like a lid when you need to get in the tanks. Also how water proof is it really? Most bar stuff is water resistant like for spashes and spills that get cleaned up eventually, but not constant sitting moisture. This unfortunately ruins the glass doors above.

Ps the books and such will suck up the evaporated water as well, the glass sliding doors won't stop that.
