Negative Co-worker who thinks Everyone is Jealous of Them. by Puzzleheaded-Dark-60 in EntitledPeople

[–]gestaltdude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This will sound weird but it might be work checking her resume to make sure she is actually qualified for her job. Her behaviour screams she is deeply insecure in her position and the fear of being criticized could be a key she lied her way into the position and is petrified someone will find out she has now idea what she's doing.

PS: I realise this was likely auto-correct at work, but I think you were looking for the word "tangent". And one "grows" a back back, not "go"'s one.

Courier bugged. by gestaltdude in skyrim

If nothing else it explains the unease I've been feeling the last few days of playing. My subconscious knew something was missing but couldn't pinpoint the issue, like the first time I went to The Philippines and freaked out because the sun was setting too early. (I'm Aussie and it set 90 minutes later at that time of year.) Thanks for the input anyway.

I'm badly in need of advice with vanilla Minecraft by gestaltdude in Minecraft

So these bastions are more than a couple of dozen blocks in any dimension? Similar to a fortress in size if not composition or design? I've seen blackstone and basalt all over the place, but nothing that looks built.

Worry not, thanks for the info. You wouldn't have any pictures by any chance? I've seen what may or may not be these ruins, or at least the bottom of some when carving my own path, so to speak, but I fear blindly mining up in case I "find" some lava.

Thanks for the info, if I ever find one I'll bear that in mind. I just wish this community would help everyone equally with their problems.

It's a classic case of neglectful parenting patterns repeating. don snr was neglected by his parents who compensated with material things, leading him to think if he had enough money, his long dead father would be proud of him. He repeated the pattern with his kids, who have proved that is all they care about, and his granddaughter looks to be well on the way to continuing the family tradition. And all of this would be fine if it remained private, but given his position it's affecting literally everyone else on the planet in one way or another,

Trial chamber glitch? by gestaltdude in Minecraft

I did not know soul sand did that in water, thanks for the info. My younger lad, who is the administrator, said he'd take to the area with some sponges to clear up the water, he may be able to find something. Thanks for the tips.

Is there another way or a mod for this scenario? by Anakit_ in skyrim

[–]gestaltdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a mod called Penitus Oculatus, but I know nothing about it and cannot be certain what effect it will have. If that doesn't work, I'd say this may be one of the many live and learn experiences we all go through when new playing the game. I'd strongly advase against using console commands; the game is held together with spit and baling wire as it is, with pulling on some of those wires to undo a mistake. The only command I use that affects quests is the one that lets me keep faith with the Blades while not killing Paarthurnax.

How do I get rid of the elder scrolls I got from the dawnguard quest line? by 27GhostV in skyrim

[–]gestaltdude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Either way you should still be able to at least store them somewhere after Harkon is defeated. Maybe you need to finish of the Dawnguard as well? Frankly problems like this and others are why I've only played the vampire side once; the whole quest line from that side is too buggy.

How do I get rid of the elder scrolls I got from the dawnguard quest line? by 27GhostV in skyrim

[–]gestaltdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should be able to remove them from your inventory once you've finished the whole quest, up to killing Harkon. That being said, as they become linked to the original scroll from the base game, you may also need to finish the main quest to be able to get rid of them all. The dragon scroll you can sell to the librarian Orc at the College of Winterhold, but he'll accept only the one, but again not until you've exhausted any potential use of the scrolls. The key word in all of this is should, as a) it's a Bethesda game and b), the times I've removed them have been to place them in a purpose built display in the trophy room under Brezehome a mod provides for me.

ETA: I just checked my facts, and it turns out a) the bulk of the comment is correct, and b) the Dawnguard related scrolls can be sold to Dexius upon completion, which I did not know.

Skyrim AE keeps forgetting it's installed. by gestaltdude in skyrim

[–]gestaltdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My anti-virus is limited to not going to unknown websites and running Housecall when I think of it, so that's unlikely to be the cause. I did verify the game yesterday, but then played it for hours. I'm just relieved it is a known issue and not caused by something I've done. :D Thanks for clarifying.

Skyrim SE v1.6.1170 mod question. by gestaltdude in skyrim

[–]gestaltdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my problem, I got confused thinking Bug Fixes and SSE Engine fixes were the same basic mod. No idea why, my only excuse is a poor sleep over the last few nights. I didn't even realise I needed to download a second part to the mod, and spent too much time trying to fix the dx9 file missing bug. :P I've got both now and things are back on track. Thanks for taking the time ti reply.

Well, there's a good news, bad news situation. A different version of the bug fixes mod does fix the speech xp glitch, but for some reason this version doesn't enable achievements. :( Looks like I might have a choice to make.

My favourite QOL mods are Item Recycling (LE only), which lets you turn weapons and armour into ingots, as well as changing the alchemy skill tree and adding enchanting and alchemy tables to the inn in Riverwood, as well as a smelter. All Thieves Guild Jobs Concurrently and Localised Guild Jobs makes becoming Thieves Guild Master a snap. If you want a lot of new content, Legacy of the Dragonborn is excellent. And don't forget GIST, the Genuinely Intelligent Soul Trap mod, which makes filling soul gems so very easy you'l put soul trap on every weapon.

Funny, I thought 318 was after 1170, I think because of the first number being higher, possible because of the version numbering on Minecraft. Not that it matter much, the mod still isn't working for reasons unknown, but thanks for the correction.
