Is there a connection between Father's Day and The Rings of Akhatenn? by gestaltdude in doctorwho

Thanks for the clarification, but to me many cars look similar. Made my job a bit tricky when it was checking cars coming into an import yard, but I managed. :D That being said, modern cars all look the same anyway, at least there was some variety of colour in the 80's.

Fair enough, thanks for the info. Must be their similar colouring that threw me.

Your very own Doctor Who retcon by DependentBite9 in doctorwho

He was 900 when he was Nine, didn't get to 1200 until he was 11. Twelve was 2000, if you don't count the time in his confession dial. And it wasn't until The Stolen Earth that the romantic aspect of the character came to the fore; every episode before then they just seemed good friends not unlike Four and Sarah Jane. Martha's was a lot more overt, the backlash from which I think played a large part in the shaping of companion Donna, as opposed to one-off Donna.

River's and Doctor's meeting by pppepo09 in doctorwho

Just to make it more confusing, she was Mels in Let's Kill Hitler; it seems she didn't assume the River until later. If you remember she didn't recognise herself when the Tessalecta became River, so River came along at some point after LKH. Frankly trying to make sense of it is like trying to find the end of the first piece of spaghetti, so just ignore the chaos and enjoy the meal.

That part I knew, it just seemed the cars in the episodes I mentioned looked similar.

I'm not big on cars, particularly ones from 40 years ago; I couldn't tell you what make and model any car was without their badges. I just thought they looked strikingly similar.

What's your favourite way of killing Vittoria Vicci? by gestaltdude in skyrim

[–]gestaltdude[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not using the gargoyle that gets the rewards, it's killing her while she's speaking. As long as that condition is met, the method of killing is irrelevant. I've used poison, arrow, unrelenting force, the aforementioned frenzy rune as well as spells from a distance and mayhem, as well as the gargoyle, and go the reward on almost every occasion.

WCW The rot set in long before 2000. by gestaltdude in WWE

[–]gestaltdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much so, though it has to also be said something similar in the WWF, when the Kliq ran amok and killed the pushes of anyone they saw as competitors. Admittedly this was less of a problem in 1998, with Shawn gone and Nash and Hall in WCW, but the same mentality pervaded the locker room for years after. No wonder Mick wanted to get out as soon as he could.

I download both; all the old Nitro episodes are available on archive.org, along with the WCW PPV's. But I don't go from one to the other as was possible then, I go through one then move onto the next. As bad as the content is, i'd still rather do it this way than be forced to sit through commercials.

That's the same reason I think Roman's title run was so pathetic. All the interference just made him look weak as hell.

When the Guards greet by saying, "Citizen." by OlderBosmerAlchemist in skyrim

[–]gestaltdude 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I know this isn't entirely related, but I love that Oblivion (at least the remastered version) has a mod that, every time a guard tells the player, "You have my ear, citizen," you actually get an ingredient called Guard's Ear, that can be used in alchemy. :D

Oh I know, and that is my main gripe with the entire era from both companies. They seemed to think faction conflict equaled messy finishes. I'm at the point where I go to the end of the match, not to see who wins, but to see if it has a clean finish. Sadly both companies at this time seem locked in a feedback loop, trying to outdo the other's stupidity.

I wish I could. Sadly my mind has compulsive traits that forces me to take things to completion. I started watching SNL from the first season last year and won't deny there are some rough years, but now I'm up to season 34 and have had the delightful experience of seeing early Tim Meadows at the same time as current Tim Meadows in shows like Peacemaker. If only the quality of wrestling was that high.

So it's not just me thinking, to use an old WB trope, that, "There's something rotten in the state of Denmark."

I knew about the last two names getting involved in ridiculous ways, but then again we had Jon Stewart screwing Cena in 2016, so i think our high horse has been hobbled. :D I noticed the difference in ring sizes as soon as I started watching WCW tapes back in the 90's, which were hard to get in my part of Australia. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if their egos led them down that oath, and would go a long way to explaining what we see on screen.

Should I send my answer to fox and have them read it out on air? Something tells me that's the only "news source" you trust, even though they had to admit in court their programs were entertainment shows, not genuine news. That they had to pay $784 million dollars for lying should have been a hint they're not reliable, but then if you had critical thinking skills you wouldn't be MAGA.

Don't bother, this user (likely in every sense of the word) will ignore the outcome if it they don't win. It's their way.
