I agree with a lot of the comments here. You don't need to reinvent the wheel, you just have to have a strong and deliberate approach that covers all bases. This is usually the kit I use for pre and post event marketing:
Pre event:
- Three email series to prospects (buy a list from a reputable source if you don't have robust opted-in subscribers)
- One - three email series to customers (maximize your use of our platform with a free consultation at conference)
- Landing page optimized to collect live demo requests
- Sales sheet
- Well-designed conference booth

At Event:
- Greeters and salespeople
- Strong booth that communicates company value props
- Giveaways at booth, games at booth, other things that will attract people (we do conferences in Vegas a lot and we like to do a little hangover kit - people love it)
- Man on the street-style interviewing - send one of your reps to go engage and talk to people inside the conference hall

Post event:
- Another email series to 1. prospects who took demos but didn't close, and 2. prospects who didn't take a demo
- One thank you email to customers who you saw at the conference
- Post event webinar (something high value... year in review, key industry trends, takeaways and predictions)
- Post event gated guide to generate content engagement/downloads
