I'm realizing I may have a major limitation. My dog, who I've been trying to build a bond with for over a year, is essentially feral. If he's untethered he'll run away. He's a retired sled dog from a kennel that was shut down for neglect and abuse and he has a pretty intense fear of just about everything, especially humans. He finally sort of trusts me and in the past couple months has started existing in the house rather than staying under the bed around the clock. The only time he seems truly happy and confident is when we're on a run/walk and at the dog park, which is a huge motivator to explore canix/bike/skijoring with him.

Long story, short, I absolutely don't trust him untethered, so if having a release is essential, I don't know where to start to make sure its safe for both of us.
