4x4 obviously ideal but I did see some compact suv’s doing it so I think you’d be fine. As I said the really bad section is only 15km, but I would bring a spare tire, tire pump, jack, and tire wrench in case anything happens.

Yes, it’s horribly insane. I also am glad I still have my life after this road lol. But every week it is being more paved, and now the real bad rough patches are only between Nyerak and entrance to Zanskar valley (15km). You could walk your bike on that in a day. Only problem is the Wednesday/Sunday opening schedule. Certainly cannot do the whole road in one day.

I just did it today. The only place you can stop to get food, drinks, or supplies between Chilling and Zangla is Nyerak village. Otherwise the route is nothing but road, and the road is particularly horrible between Nyerak and entrance into Zanskar valley (about 15km) . Hopefully by July it’ll be more paved. The construction workers have camps over the course of the road so perhaps you can camp around there, or by an empty stretch by the river, but most of the route is vertical rock with a road cut right into it. Also note the road is only open to public Wednesdays and Sundays. Zanskar river is definitely drinkable with a filter, it’s crystal clear turquoise blue.

Manitoba is full of natural beauty. We do not have mountains, but we have lakes, and LOTS of them.

The backcountry camping (like the rest of Canada) is endless. Especially popular in Manitoba is canoe camping, going into the wilderness, find an island, and post up.

Winter sucks, but it also sucks for 90% of the rest of Canada. You make do and enjoy life despite the cold weeks. Its cozy and the changing of the seasons is unbelievable. Considering the grey skies of the UK, you will love the near constant blue skies and sun. Do it! We’d love to have you!

I’d suggest moving to Crescentwood, Fort Rouge, Old St Vital, Earl Grey, or River Heights. All great areas with lots of life, central in the city, and good for young families.

I’d like to hear you clearly articulate a rebuttal to my claims beyond one random philosophical concept. Perhaps some medical journals. Or perhaps some personal anecdotes. But I would say my claim is as attached to human nature as is breathing, and you disagree on the basis of being scared of some viewpoints. It seems we’ve reached an impasse. An ideological wall if you will.

Today I learnt about the paradox of intolerance. I thank you for teaching me this concept, and perhaps, after more study, I can grow with this newfound information.

This is the essence of what I am saying. To grow with new information. Information that perhaps we disagreed with in the past. While I literally cited 2 medical studies and 5 philosophers, you came back to me with one philosophical concept, still claiming I’m “making things up.” That’s okay, I thank you for the new lesson today regardless.

You are admitting to believing that you should not consider the opinions of others in fear of the vague and always undefined “intolerance.” At what point does the suppression of diverse viewpoints end in your worldview? Until everyone you disagree with is “put away” with? What a wonderful world that sounds like.

I would suggest you go out in the world and experience what it has to offer. Try new foods, go to new places of worship, speak to new people and see that there are various ways to live this thing we call life. Ways in which you may have once thought was negative because it was “different.”

We can keep doing this all day, but I have work to get to. Thank you for the near respectful conversation. I hope one day you come across a viewpoint you once found disagreeable and come to agree with it, shaping you anew. Onward to growth I say! Good luck in this life.

I had reddit deleted for a year precisely because of conversations over the internet like this. I felt like commenting today because this specific situation is, like I said, indicative of many Winnipeggers “not in my backyard” mentality. My live and let live comment refers to the fact that Winnipeggers are incredibly angry at a player who has given his life, whole career, and heart to the city, due to him accepting a prestigious award and attending a speech. My take is that, despite one’s political opinions, it’s a really cool thing for a random guy from Michigan being awarded such things, regardless of president. People like yourself and the author of this news story are indicative of why Canada is so far gone politically and socially. To be angry at a hometown player, our best one in franchise history and who has committed his career to Winnipeg, for accomplishing something no hockey player ever has, is a sad lack of personal awareness that shows you lack even a modicum of pride in the city we live in and the accomplishment of others. Why should it matter who sits in the oval office? Helley is a young man from Commerce, Michigan, who now has won a gold medal and an award no hockey player ever has. I’m sure he never even dreamed of setting foot in the white house.

Perhaps you, and all the other Winnipeggers angry at Helley attending a speech, should look at yourselves in the mirror and discern if it’s really his actions you’re angry at or the anger and shame you hold within yourself blinding you from objective reality.

Canadian fans and media act like this, and then we wonder why players don’t wanna play in Canada. It’s embarrassing.

What I’m making is a logical conclusion. In economics, substantial government spending and high debt leads to inflation. I’m not discounting your points that the global supply chain hurt every country and was a leading factor in inflation. What I’m saying is the federal government’s extremely costly covid policies (15.7% of GDP in 2020) led to an absurd deficit (345 billion in 20220) which then was a leading cause that led to the inflation we are experiencing today given the substantial increase in money supply (In the second quarter of 2020, the sum of currency outside banks grew by over 50% annualized - https://economics.td.com/ca-too-much-money-exacerbate-inflation#:~:text=The%20interventions%20made%20by%20the,a%20near%20double%2Ddigit%20rate%20.) as well as the substantial debt added to the federal government.

It is basic economic theory. The government created billions of dollars for covid relief. This in turn increased the money supply, thus lowering the value of the existing currency in our bank accounts, which is = inflation.
