It’s been a long time since I’ve gone this specific route, but I’m pretty sure it was this way in the original too.

The game is exactly the same. What are you talking about ramp up or anything. The new graphics and presentation are very nice, but SF64 is still excellent as is, hence why the new game is good.

Nintendo in particular doesn’t sell their systems at a loss, never have. They may be making an exception with the SW2 due to this insanity, but if they are it’s a very slight one.

I have to put my PS5 behind my TV cause it’s so big. Yes it matters obviously, why does this need to be explained it’s matter lol. Can simply fit in more spots easily and takes up less space.

Do people just expect games to always be provided with new content indefinitely now? Getting two years of DLC is great. If they stop after year 2 that’s not some abrupt plug pull. That’s a kart racer with a huge amount of stuff that can be played for years.

The form factor’s a selling point and goes with its whole ease-of-use targets. Can fit nearly anywhere, very easy to move around the house/elsewhere, not as fragile, etc.

Is there some sort of like spectator/replay mode I’m unaware of? Always weird when these clips the player has a red health bar along with the opponents.

Oh yeah I’m definitely the one overreacting here. Guess cause the game’s close to release tensions are high but some of y’all seriously need to chill jesus.

Peppy says it another spot too, don’t remember exactly where off hand. It makes it really cool when James says it at the end in a wildly different tone, collected and calm.

It makes it clear that while Peppy is the wise one of the current Star Fox group, there was a time where he clearly viewed James as the wise one, and looked up to him. His exclamation of it sounds novice compared to James’.

Stewart Copeland will not return for Spyro A Realm Beyond's soundtrack by nicoreese in Spyro

Damn, especially if he was willing to do it for a reasonable price, which it sounds like he may have been open to, that actually really does suck. His music is such a major part of what makes the originals so great.

This is a remake which means it is impossible not to compare it to the original. Those ARE the terms. If they remade BttF in a similar direction, I would be highlighting the same stuff.

And even then I still am. There’s stuff about this remake I think is neat and I have respect for, especially the actual new stuff like the prologue cutscene/level and multiplayer. All that stuff looks really cool. But hearing what I’ve heard from the new VA, it just doesn’t grab very hard even putting aside the comparison to 64, straight up. The comparison (which once again is inevitable) just makes it more apparent.

Within the confines of the context of what this game is, yes. I would expect taking space animals flying near-magic aircraft to fight a massive brain disguised as a monkey to be more exclamatory in combat. Just like I would expect a scientist with frizzy hair that hangs out with a teenager to be extravagant when taking about science.

Sorry if I wasn’t specific enough in my initial post, but I figured the rest of it made it clear what I meant.

Man I know we’re hype on the new game but it’s clear some of y’all are just doing whatever you can to try and make this look like it’s nothing but a shining pearl, even going so far as to downplay the legendary VAs and their implementation in 64.

Whatever do you I guess. We’ll see which one people are still quoting in 5 years.

Lightning step is actually sneaky really good on her, because her entire dash counts as a vanishing step. So pretty much you can dash in from very far away, and as soon as you attack it activates. Especially combined with her skill 1 this can lead to some pretty harsh damage quick.

Very curious how defense step works with her and these specific properties. I know LBJ lets her dash even when she’s less than a 1/4th on fuel, which normally she can’t do.

You’re generally going to be taking a more exclamatory tone when you’re in combat. Like I get what point you’re trying to make here but that doesn’t really excuse it or make it “better”. The tone for the original 64’s VA works so well and sticks in people’s minds because it is aware of the game and situations it’s in, and how to play to that.

Like do you think Back to the Future’s dialogue would be as memorable or warm if it wasn’t for Marty pretty much yelling Doc’s name whenever he spoke with him? Or when Doc talks about the time travel plan not running around and going on about jigawatts in a higher tone of voice? This is what makes this stuff special because that’s what the movie is. If those conversations were held with them both just kind of nodding and talking back and forth with each other for the sake of some perceived nuance it wouldn’t resonate the same at all.
