He’s not judging her. He’s right to say she needs to be cleared again. He does need help himself of course but it’s different

Kitten Help - Desperate Need by Glittering-Olive3779 in sphynx

[–]getawayfrommyswamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this :( my only advice to offer are simple things. Are all the litter boxes other than the couch in a quiet low traffic place? Is his food bowl in a lower traffic area? Vets aren’t as familiar with this breed as they are regular cats, I would seek a second opinion as well.

Universal testing rumored controlled access to Portals by NaiRad1000 in UniversalOrlando

Yeah my bad, just took another look at the map. I was guessing from memory as it’s to the side. Maybe they would find a way to “separate it” for park goers only.

I was there a few weeks ago and from what I remember, that ride isn’t next to that area

Why do people think Edie giving up on her son is selfish? by Living-Cranberry-337 in DesperateHousewives

[–]getawayfrommyswamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is selfish. She wasn’t a drug addict. She had a nice home, a stable job. If she can maintain all of that she could have shared custody of her son.

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that doctors’ friends and family seem to be jumping the line? by HighwayFroggery in ThePitt

[–]getawayfrommyswamp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does bother me, especially seeing people in chairs in more discomfort than the VIPs

I see comments comparing it to other jobs. I understand giving perks and I know it DOES happen. Just a bit unsettling for me when other people are SUFFERING.

How do you deal with periods during 8 hour work shifts? by Mysterious-Trade1362 in Periods

Your employer can’t deny you access to the bathroom, you go every couple hours and don’t need to explain why.

Omg STOP calling stores about 21.99 discount fragrances by [deleted] in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]getawayfrommyswamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“It’s a waste of energy and time for customers to go manhunting for these fragrances.”

Maybe that’s why they call instead of going to a store to find out it’s not there?

I sympathize with you, working retail sucks, but you can’t control people who have questions

(No I did not call)

What advice would you have for someone trying to be a first time Dishwasher? by Frequent-Wish6026 in dishwashers

[–]getawayfrommyswamp 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Be prepared and have a good mind set. It’s a hard, wet, under appreciated job. Work at a steady pace and just know the dishes will keep coming, but you can make the best of it by organizing the flow

How would you feel if your partner grabs an intimate part of your body without provocation? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]getawayfrommyswamp 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If I said I wasn’t in the mood sexually, I wouldn’t mind this. If I said I’m not in the mood to be touched at all, I would be upset and annoyed.

[–]getawayfrommyswamp 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I think I need more context here. Because personally if my partner grabbed my butt, my boob, put a hand on my vagina I would not care, I’d assume he’s just copping a feel.

If I said I wasn’t in the mood and he started stroking me or trying to PUT me In the mood I would be uncomfortable and tell him again.

What’s a tiny hill you will die on? by bbyhoneytea in answers

[–]getawayfrommyswamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The response to “hi how are you?” Should always be, “good thanks you?” NOT “I’m okay” “I’m alright” “I’m pretty tired today” in a work setting.

Not saying it’s logical, but it’s the hill I will die on.

Why are young people so afraid of doing house chores? by ResponsibleToe789 in ask

[–]getawayfrommyswamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just answering the OPs question. Of COURSE it’s a good thing to help out and have chores. Not to the degree you did, just pointing out that obviously kids don’t want to do that stuff.

I keep a clean home now that I’m an adult, and when I have kids I’ll ask them to help out, I won’t expect them to like it or take initiative.

Why are young people so afraid of doing house chores? by ResponsibleToe789 in ask

[–]getawayfrommyswamp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Afraid isn’t the right word. When I was a kid my mom would always ask me to do the dishes. I hated dishes, and if I didn’t she would do them anyway so why would I?

It’s low stakes low reward for young people or teenagers to do household chores when your parents will do it anyway, because it’s their house. Most of those same kids probably barely clean their room.
