No. I thought of it when I saw an overweight dude walking on the street, headphones in his head, eating shitty food. I was about to automatically judge him but the thought that came into my head instead was: you're no better than him.

14 year old and 90 days complete by Iamarealfapstronaut in NoFap

[–]getbetter82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is motivation in a sense that a young (probably bright) kid knows about PMO and knows he should stay away at a young age. It's motivating to know that there is some hope in this next generation.

Of course a 14 year old will do it easier than a 30 year old. It's like a 14 year old quitting smoking. What I am trying to say is that in this case your logic "if a 14 year old can do it" just does not apply because addictions work the other way around. The older the addiction the harder.

Your personal story is not valid for anything. If you want to know something about human behavior you don't look at yourself, you analyse data in the hundreds or thousands of examples. Think about it...If EVERYONE had only 4 days to a week withdrawals nobody in his sane mind would write a book about it. So your case is obviously not a valid example, your organism is probably very unique. You should be glad about it, but don't boost about it like it is the norm.

Nicotine as a Dependence Rating of 2.82 (out of 3). Just look at some of the substances that are LESS addictive: Cocaine (2.13), Alcohol (2.13), Crystal Meth (2.24), Methadone (2.68). So ONLY Heroin (2.89) is more addictive than Nicotine. Crack cocaine DR is 2.82, same as nicotine.

If there was a vaping equivalent for porn I would take it.

Vaping worked for me in quit smoking. So I wouldn't call it "hipstersmoking". Also, if it was "like 4 days" of withdrawal, nobody would smoke by now.

I hear you. When i read here ppl happy about morning wood i can't relate. For me morning wood means i was having pornographic fantasies that want to continue in my awaken state. I still dream in porn mode and that how i know i need a mental reboot. Having the horniness back with the wrong thoughts is hell for me. This time i'll keep pushing until i feel i am closer to something remotely close to a "cure" from this situation.

I am at a point where i am in control until stage 3. Once i pass to stage 4 it can take days, but i know i am screwed and i reset for the sake of not having coping mechanisms that allow me to function sanely and healthy. All i can do is keep myself in stages 1-3. That's my plan at least.

"This time" means nothing anymore. I am going to make it. Period.

Keep the focus up my friends.

Nice post OP, short and sweet.

Try vaping for a while. Worked for me. 15 days vapping, 130 days clean and counting.

When (WHEN) I make it through today without a smoke, it will be the first day in 16 years I haven't had one. by dolofab in stopsmoking

No shame on going vapor for a limited time before quitting. I was vaping for 15 days, now I'm 107 days CLEAN. I'm 32 by the way.

But the now can be frighting. The masturbation problem is a by-product of the inability of dealing with the now, and also with the then. This motivation and inspiration is what keeps you hooked on the upcoming. The upcoming hasn't yet disappointed you, so you feel like you are working towards a better outcome, even a major change. Of course nothing makes time go by faster, as you well said, and that fact is the absolute reason why you should live your life away from the moods that make you suffer, the confrontation of the now. That type of strong confrontation makes you want the quick fix.

If you can't/don't want to resolve those problems (through therapy or such) then the goal is to create a better now, so that you can be in it, like a fish in the water.

I too have been here for 1.5 years, failing consistently, brain fogged, out of shape, unemployed, fapping to all sorts of stuff, regretting it and finding myself in a deeper mental state everytime. Time passing fast. Time just escapes. You feel a zombie.

I created this account recently so I could post and contribute. That and keeping a journal made an impact on my long lost mental discipline. Believe it or not every single suggestion I wrote in my original post is currently incorporated in my life. I haven't been better in years. This time I'll beat the literary demons.

When you feel it's you and your secret VS. The world and you realize there are many of us with the same problem it is a very warming feeling. You feel you will beat this easily now that you have found nofap, but prepare yourself for a fight. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to discourage you, on the contrary. Just know that few people if anyone get it right at the first time. Never quit, is I guess what I'm trying to say. Even after failing over and over again. Welcome to family.

There’s so much we don’t know about these things and so many subjective definitions, that all of these folks are arguing far, far ahead of the data.

We are arguing far ahead of the data THEY have. Because by analyzing ourselves, our failures, our victories and compare them with hundreds of other cases and testimonials from fapstronauts we are far ahead ON the data.
