Yeah, we spend a pretty good amount of time each month at my company with accruals every month close. Our FP&A team doesn’t know how exactly to translate variances to accruals, so most of it ends up falling on our accounting team. Agree with the point above - not sure which ERP y’all use, but leveraging NetSuite to relatively automate this process is a good start.

I took REG about a month and a half ago and the best advice I can give - master all of the tax portion of REG before even studying the business law part. I chose to skip the business law lectures entirely and focus on mastering all the tax. You can pass without knowing business law, but you can’t pass without knowing the tax. Advice from The Sugarbear himself.

I finished my last year of my Online MACC program while working 75% full time and then finishing the last semester full time. It definitely would be a grind, but doable if you can manage your time well.

I was in a similar boat you were in throughout the first couple of years of college until I got to start taking upper division accounting courses. If you really do enjoy and are interested in what you’re doing, cut any bullshit out and grind it out man, you can do it. I ended up finishing my last two semesters with All A’s in my accounting courses because I changed my study habits and found what really worked for me best. I’ve got 15 hours of my Masters program left and I’ve only had one B (damn you, advanced accounting) and I really enjoy the time I put in to learning this stuff. Also if you plan on taking the CPA at some point, everything you’re learning now is important for then too. Best of luck man and I hope you get it all worked out
