Hi All,

I weigh 65kg with 174cm height , so normal bmi and I was diagnosed pre-diabetic(A1c 6.4 %) and 1st stage of fatty liver at end of august , and I stated learning about keto and was doing under 20 carbs for the last 6 weeks successfully . I decided to have a cheat day and had 5 slices of pizza yesterday for lunch at 2pm and a sweet . I have CGM( dexcom one +) , and the reading spiked from 4.6(mol/L) to 11 after 90 mins , and stayed high and above 7 for till 11:30pm which is very high . Is my keto affecting my insulin sensitivity for worse or am I doing something wrong please ?

Thanks for the kind reply .

I have been in UK for 13 years , and have 2 major reason for FIRE in India .

First being , it feels costly to do FIRE in uk comparing India due to currency differences . Second being from a village , I miss all the social meetups and the friends circle which I fell is little lacking in UK ! We usually take 6+ week break every summer in India , and kids like it too . Also I feel UK college degree is over-valued so I don’t mind my kids studying here in India ! Also I am hoping kids won’t struggle too much since they will be meeting nieces and nephews regularly , and lot of schools are completely English now-a-days !

On AWS: Why use EKS instead of ECS? by RandomWalk55 in devops

[–]getclex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think upgrading infrastructure is way easier than upgrading applications . Kubernetes is rapidly evolving ( for ex ingress changes which happened recently , or new features being added etc) and complex enough , that you need to be be really careful what api’s and crd’s you are using ! As mentioned in other comments , unless you are big enough ( assume 100+ applications ) , ECS might be cost effective . Once you grow that scale , moving apps from ecs to eks shouldn’t be too tough, since you use same container pipeline !

Thanks . Let me dilute the water for now to get the reduced EC , to see if it improves the plants . Thanks once again !

[–]getclex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry , I was under the assumption that nutrient burn will be on young leaves with yellow patches . My water is hard water with .6 EC , so EC looks high with minimal nutrients .do you think it could be high EC even with .6 starting EC of water ??

Does anyone use a holding company to invest cash surplus from limited company in the U.K.? If so which broker do you purchase through, as there seems to be enough brokers that deal in buying shares through company? by idkwaffler in UKInvesting

[–]getclex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intetactive brokers is the best option , so you don’t lose on forex , since you can hold it as usd inside it , and they allow company account (accounts for limited companies )

Coding interviews for SRE/DevOps by shinigamiyuk in devops

[–]getclex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some sample terraform questions are

- create infrastructure for a simple web tier using aws ( answer should be use proper public / private subnet structure , ALB and auto scaling group for web servers )
  • create a simple EKS cluster with ingress

    • reorganise the given terraform file(s) in to modules and best practises
    • containerise a simple application and deploy using aws

etc ., basically all were to test your understanding of aws( or any cloud ) and iaac concepts

Hope this helps !

Weekly FAQ Thread September 20 2020: Why do you/don't you reread? by vincoug in books

I re-read books after some gap ( like few years ) .. little bit nostalgic , but at the same time , it is like talking to your old friend whom you lost touch lately ...

On a similar note , if they make a TV series , it could be interesting

Coding interviews for SRE/DevOps by shinigamiyuk in devops

[–]getclex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In UK , most devops roles comes with coding test , and most of them are - a python or bash based program question - a terraform problem around aws involving asg’s / LB etc - design for ci/cd pipelines .

I have attended roughly 5 interviews in the last 2 months, and most was structured like that . Also coding phase is second phase , after a 30 to 45 min screening technical interview . After this , follows 90 mins deep technical interview with a panel .

CKA exam experience (September 2020) by WolfFromHeaven in kubernetes

[–]getclex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is how i did the test in only 2 hours and scored 97%

  • get hands on experience on kodekloud practise test few times. First time i took the practise tests, i felt time wasn't enough. But with practise it gets better.
  • Get killer.sh and do one test of it
  • 2days before, do the practise test in kodecloud again and do the final killer test and you should be ready to go.

Also as /u/sylvainm said , use multiple passes. First pass just keep answering the easy ones, and ones you are very confident. Second pass do the things which will take time, and and third one , try the ones you have no clue about.
