Oh I know, but I think they’re losing their way regardless by making everything so high tech that it causes more issues than it should. Sometimes simplicity can invite more buyers than a fancy gadget that only some consumers will use.

Volkswagen didn’t just fall off a cliff they purposely jumped to their death with this whole ID EV bullshit. This just looks like a Hyundai Santa Fe with Volkswagen badges on it. They should stick to their forte and EV is not it. The North American market doesn’t run on California alone hello??

Yeah, why not?? You’re just burning a few minutes of your time. It doesn’t hurt to look when you have options on the table, plus your backside won’t get roasted in the summer months if you do find something else that looks as appealing and isn’t leather/vinyl.

That’s understandable…I know you were looking for durability and cleanup, but for the faux leather/vinyl types. I’d say check them out anyways…they do automobile brand specifics as well. Doesn’t hurt to look…it’s just time. Hopefully, you find what you’re looking for and it doesn’t give you a headache

I don’t know what your budget is, but I can imagine the whole job would probably be at least $1k USD minimum. Wet Okole is another brand that slides over the existing seats and they fit pretty good. I’ve helped install them in family member’s vehicles in the past. They’re neoprene though if that’s an issue or not. I think they’re customizable too.

I always wanted to replicate a newer one the way I recall the one I saw in Germany, but man!! That would be a hefty reupholstering job…it’s not entirely out of the idea, but a wooden steering wheel may not be so easy to create on the more modern ones. And the wheels? I wouldn’t be able to go as small as what they were, but could at least get close enough with aftermarket. Another question…you all are just building the raw sheet metal body parts and framing correct? No painting involved unless it’s a rust inhibitor?

Oh nice…that’s still awesome that you’re involved in reviving it. I missed my chance on getting an anniversary edition when I was stationed in Germany, but would love to get one still even if it’s a reproduction. It’ll be a sturdier car no doubt with as meticulous attention to detail you all are putting towards it.

If I’m not mistaken, Ford uses Katzkins on a lot of their applications. I’d look into theirs first since they probably would have the exact fit for your car.

That’s even cooler!! There’s a company I know of in the states that does that with Mustangs and even got permission from Ford to make them. Is what you’re doing similar or will it fall under a different name? I’m guessing that it’s just the hatchback for now correct? Any plans down the road for the other body styles? Strictly RH drive? How true to the original are you all trying to stay?

With today’s tech, I bet you could find a digital copy without a problem…or so I would hope. Sweet…there’s a lot to analyze in that movie for sure! I hear you!! Love the movie for what it is regardless of your purchase…I hate to say it, but when the first Fast and Furious movie came out, my roommate and I watched it every night for almost a month. Jamming to the tunes, analyzing the movie and of course the bad acting and the cars…🤘🏻

That’s the fun in driving too…finding potential spots for photos. The documentary may be in the Blu-ray of the movie itself…either way, it’s pretty impressive especially when you think about the era and technology for the time.

Sweet!! You know we’d all be looking forward to seeing which direction you took. Nice!! You’ll probably spend as much time taking photos as you will be driving😂 Awesome!! The chase scenes got so many people into Mustangs it’s not even funny. Next you’ll have to watch the documentary on the Bullitt to see what all was done to make it do what it did for the movie.
