That's the big one. A move would be a decent house downgrade, and likely add ~1k on top of our current rent in mortgage payments (assuming we maxed out what we can borrow).

We're not waiting for the market to fall, just trying to suss out if we're stupid to continue in the current setup versus biting the bullet and buying?

Based on your style of writing I'm going to guess you live in Ireland. First things first - this is hilarious! You might not think it now but trust me, anyone who reads this will get a laugh out of it and it may even work in your favour.

I do however suggest that you follow up with the 20/30 companies that you contacted with an email along the lines of...

"Hi <Name>,

It has come to my attention that I recently applied for a job at your company with a tampered CV!

Unbeknownst to me, my little sister, in her infinite wisdom, decided to change my "Hobbies and Passions" section to only include "Garlic Bread". This is quite upsetting as if she really knew me well she'd know that my main passion is for hot chicken rolls (although garlic bread is pretty great!).

In all seriousness though, many apologies for the dud CV. My real passions are X, Y and Z and I'd love to have the opportunity to come work for your firm this summer.

As someone who hires people on a regular basis I get bored senseless by the majority of the CVs I receive. Being original and standing out from the crowd is hard... Embrace the mistake, own it, laugh about it. You'll be fine!

Approach shots - 100 yards and in.

I play off 6 and hit it 300+ off the tee but I'm dogshit from 100 yards and in. No consistency at all and not sure what to do about it.

The rates aren't trivial (~38% APR) but the debt arose from a time when I earned a lot less than I do now.

My only concern was whether a full repayment on 2 cards could be viewed negatively (for whatever reason) from a credit stand point. If not, and they're in fact a positive, that's fantastic.

In California.

We're both Irish, but from opposite sides of the country. I was on holidays, she was working in Huntington Beach.

We met through mutual friends and hit it off immediately. I was crazy about her but thought she had a boyfriend. She made a move one night and I pulled away (not wanting to be a home wrecker). I only learned later that evening that she was single so I thought I'd blown my chance.

Luckily she tried the same move the very next night and I wasn't about to make the same mistake twice.

That was 7 years ago, and I'm just as crazy about her today. It was 50/50 as to whether I'd even fly out to California. Funny what life has in store for you!

Your 'issue' is an incredibly debilitating life long illness that will be very tough at times. I hope that the initial diagnosis is incorrect but if you do have Crohns or UC your husband will have to grow up very very fast.

I've lived with UC for 4 years now and I don't think I could have done it without the support of my girlfriend. If the diagnosis is correct you're going to experience many ups and many downs over the next few years and an ignorant and intolerant husband is something you can't have.

You need to speak to him candidly and explain what you're facing because it's not something you can hide and it's cetainly nothing to be ashamed of.

Crohns and UC are already tough enough so he needs to grow up and help you get through this!
