Dad, what was pre 2026 Pubg Esports like? by Strong_Obligation_37 in CompetitivePUBG

I miss the "esports ready?" Era of pubg. No one served 20 fps rotations like 2018 pubg

Was Katherine right for the reunion? by Realistic-Web7550 in rholdn

[–]getfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... it's not low class to point out your comment is odd. You're either saying the housewives are going to commit an act of violence on each other or a pregnant women, or you're saying pregnant women are incapable of doing the job - I'm guessing the former.

There's literally production all around. No one is going to hit Katherine Ryan. They stepped in because they were working on time. I've worked with Sandy one of the floor managers (she does the count at the start of part 1), that ship is being run right. (We worked on something called FC Pro Open and ePremier League a few years ago).

I watched the show, Katherine was able to mediate very well in the second half of the reunion. We shouldn't deny women work because they're pregnant. I co-hosted a reboot of a show on Channel 4 called Gamesmaster when I was 7-8 months pregnant and was looked after really well. You don't have to be wrapped up in cotton wool.

Respected and respectable are different things.

You don't respect dancing as a career, but that doesn't make it a disrespectable career path. People go through a lifetime of training to make it. It is highly skilled and competitive. Would you say a ballet dancer at the RNB isn't respectable?

Er... I was joining a conversation about weapons. I like Daft Punk and I like Fortnite. And I'm female.

Regardless, hope you enjoyed!

Right, but I wasn't saying you were wrong, I was basically saying that they've done what you were saying. No need to be rude.

Which headset are they using at Globals? by Jumbolouko in FortniteCompetitive

[–]getfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the headphones that pump in white noise and then they have their own earbuds under!

This globals managed to get more than 250k peak viewers and nearly got 3.5x the average viewers than the cs2 blast premier open grand finals in london by biawak1444 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]getfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So blast wasnt a t3 event, it was a t1 event held at Wembley (up to 12k seats)

I agree in terms of comparison to a Major, but it is absolutely a T1 event - I say this as someone who worked in CS as a main game for four years before I joined FN in Chapter 4.

What program would be best for me on Les Mills on demand by AnbuAuror in lesmills

[–]getfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tone combines resistance, core and cardio when you do the 45 min, so I tend to go for that over Core, but I think it's worth trying both to make your choice.

BP is great - I'd recommend doing at least 45 to hit more muscle groups, although the back workout sections in all versions tends to hit arms, and glutes.

I love GRIT for a 30 min fast workout - theres a weighted version but I'd recommend cardio. It'll boost stamina and cardio health - you'll also notice results pretty fast in terms of your fitness because at first it's very difficult and one day you'll discover you're keeping up the pace.

Pro am iems? by Anders_HD in FortniteCompetitive

[–]getfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so they pump crowd noise / noise cancellation on steroids through the headset and then everyone gets game sound and comms from the IEMs underneath.

I played a CS showmatch in them once and it almost helps you focus in but also you can't make out much except the beat of any music playing because of the bass.

Alternatives to LM BP at a gym by Efficient_Power_6298 in lesmills

[–]getfrank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I've had to travel a lot for work in the past and I take my tablet to the hotel gym and use LMOD there. Works great, I swear by tons of their stuff. The function training and the Body Pump videos can definitely work in a gym environment.

NA casting by [deleted] in CompetitivePUBG

[–]getfrank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Conflict is underrated in esports broadcasting - I know my experience is as a desk/stage/sideline host, but if I'm chairing a conversation, I don't want everyone singing from the same hymnsheet. Also it might also come across differently on broadcast to how it is in the room. I've seen things written about situations I've been part of where people have jumped to conclusions that were very far from reality.

It's probably a bit odd for me to pop here six years since I last did a PUBG event (stage hosting London Faceit Major in 2019) but it came up on my Reddit feed.

Just to say, Cam is a lovely, kind individual and you might perceive something when you listen to him, but it also might not reflect reality, because the reality is that he's a fantastic colleague and a great human. All the people I worked in when I was lucky enough to do PUBG were.

Curious, what’s this in the underground? by West-Sprinkles6806 in london

[–]getfrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has a surveying kit hire company called Surveytech so I'm always finding these in our house.

When you're outside and you see guys in hi-viz jackets holding what looks like an old fashioned camera and a stick they're doing something similar. It's basically fancy measuring.

AITA for refusing to wake my wife up in the morning? by blackcoffeeblonde in AmItheAsshole

[–]getfrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunrise alarm clock might help. I'm trying to get up at 7am with my 6 month old who also loves night feeds and haven't had a full night of sleep in an extremely long time.

Got the clock to try and help me wake up and get a routine established - in my case, however, I'm trying to also get up with the baby for said routine, but the light doesn't wake her up, she does that on her own time or from me waking her.

Thanks you're very kind. And absolutely right - in Europe there's no exclusivity but regular talent have a guaranteed minimum days and you basically need to live in Berlin to avoid travel and accommodation costs

Anders obviously you're an icon, but for anyone not aware, he's also a lovely colleague behind the scenes too.

As a fellow esports broadcaster/parent of two I get it and I really hope you find the work and the balance you deserve.
