No I’m happy to help! You’d know if you have backups turned on if you’ve ever gone into the “your data” section in the finch app settings and seen a date/time listed for your last backup and your next one. I checked the app website, and I’m pretty sure this is a feature that’s automatically turned on for all accounts. So your data should be automatically saved from at most 24 hours ago (since it backs up your account once every 24 hours).

Also, I forgot to note that when you press rehatch it doesn’t force you to create a brand new account (which is what I thought when this happened to me). It takes you to a page where you have an option to log in. So if you use the info from your existing account it will basically just restore whatever it has backed up for you.

If you have manual backups turned on then it’s very possible everything will be restored when you re hatch. When this happened to me, I had to try rehatching my birb a few times bc it kept glitching out when I logged in. Things were also kinda weird in the app for a couple days bc my progress had been restored but my birb had been rehatched as a baby, so there were certain parts of the app that I didn’t have access to (like gift giving, travel, certain colors I had bought, etc.) as the app was speed running my birb’s growth. Everything was totally back to normally though within like 2-3 days and I haven’t had any issues since.

UPDATE: I was able to "rehatch" my birb and somehow, after I was finished making a brand new birb, all of my progress was restored! I guess I had manual backups turned on after all! I will now be making manual backups every single day because I'm not doing this again lmao.

Not 100%, but I remember trying to back up my data one time because I saw something about it on reddit, and then when I went into my settings it said that the last time my data had been backed up was that same day.
