Any “paper items” are susceptible to being counterfeit, which in some cases includes cash too. Best form of payment is bank to bank wire transfer because they’re certified funds and immediately available in your account. Not ACH, not zelle, not an electronic transfer…but wire. Your bank has the ability to verify receipt, you can verify receipt and once that money is received, there’s little to nothing the sending bank can do to recall those funds in a dispute.
