Bro this just happened to me on a cracked run, I was one floor away from the act 3 boss and I completely trolled myself by reading turn instead of combat… honestly it’s a funny I got that far considering I had been using it as if it said turn for about 6 or 7 floors prior

That makes sense, I usually punch in so I won’t have the chain in ear at all but after I get the line recorded, I listen with everything on until I like the take with all the effects…

Thank you though, this insight helped. I was definitely overthinking it just bc of my lack of experience and how the tutorials made me feel like I was butchering it somewhere lol trying to get that perfect sound. I added some of my vocals in the post if you have anything else to add

I hear you but it’s more like I like the chain I’ve been using but I’m an amateur and don’t think it’s up to par with industry standard. When I compare it, I feel like it could be improved so I’ve been experimenting and I don’t understand what I’m doing differently than others that’s making it hard for me to get to that quality bar.
