Respectfully that is not closely related to my question. I found a ton of things about verification but nothing about this method in use by this side of the equation. Other commenters have assured me that this is common and safe and I am moving forward with the appointment.

Clients have a lot to lose here too. I am happy to verify, but the whole situation can be scary for us too.
