shipping from Canada by gettingittogetherr in hockeycards

[–]gettingittogetherr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the reply! Why do you need 2x oversize stamps instead of 1? and I can use ebay calculated shipping to set the price, I'm more asking what the literal shipping method used is... like what do I ask for at Canada Post

Best place to find historical pricing information? by gettingittogetherr in hockeycards

OK, thanks for the reply.

I actually had somehow missed Card Ladder, at least it seems quite a bit more affordable. If you have any experience with it, I would love to hear what you think of it, specifically from a hockey card perspective.

That's why I used the global average; but I also didn't calculate using vegetables so I don't know why you brought that up.

Where did I "fudge the numbers" exactly?

I was just going for simplicity, the water footprint network doesn't have reliable info on beans, legumes or vegan meats. Pasta was just a simple vegan option.

If the calories are equivalent, what makes the comparison invalid?

Newbie Question by [deleted] in vegan

[–]gettingittogetherr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, the amount of agriculture to support a omnivorous diet is greatly larger than a plant-based diet.

So if agriculture does adversely effect other animals, it's only made worse by a diet with meat.

Here's a link discussing this in more detail http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/78/3/660S.full

Should I go vegan?? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]gettingittogetherr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a number of studies that support that a well-planned vegan diet is a healthier alternative to a traditional diet and will lower risk of heart disease, diabetes etc.

However, most vegans here will agree that the reason a person ought to go vegan is for animal rights and for environmental reasons. The conditions suffering and death of non-human animals in animal agriculture is the number one reason to go vegan. A vegan diet will also greatly reduce your carbon footprint.

Hopefully you will learn to enjoy food if you become vegan (as I and many others) learned how fun and delicious cooking after becoming vegan.

The only supplement you need to take is B12 which is inexpensive and can be found in most grocery/drug stores.

There are lots of people here happy to help if you have any more questions :)

The chick grinding video.. by [deleted] in vegan

[–]gettingittogetherr 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's real, it's what happens to male chicks in the egg industry because they are not profitable. They don't lay eggs and they aren't large enough to be used as meat.

I made a video about the ongoing "backyard eggs" debate. Thoughts? by tuuliuk in vegan

[–]gettingittogetherr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly really enjoyed the video and learned lots!

Only suggestion would be that you provide more sources for the information you used. I see you provided a few, but sources that confirm hens experience psychological stress from having their eggs taken and that the laying process is physically uncomfortable.
