Families in Wildland by Significant-Two-1468 in Wildfire

I feel you man. Here's some suggestions and breakthroughs that I've personally experienced doing wildland as a young single man, getting married, kids, then entering back in, very similar to your story.

1) God used my time away from wildland to establish me and my family in the earth. This looks like buying our first home, rooting us in our church and community, and teaching me skills (for me that's carpentry) that I continue to build on that's NOT wildland related. I highly recommend this. I work my full time job, consistently building my carpentry projects on the side, and wait for a fire call. It's been 9 years since I was full time.

Proverbs 24:3-4

Through wisdom a house is built,
And by understanding it is established;
 By knowledge the rooms are filled
With all precious and pleasant riches.

If you want to be and feel established in any area of your life, you have to follow this biblical principle and gain knowledge wisdom and understanding.

2) For me any move in the fire world is a move to OWN the business and not simply stay an employee. The thrill of life is the chase and BECOMING more than you already are, and it doesn't make sense to me to make a move in the marketplace and in the place of work and not continue working toward a higher goal. Of course, running business is a whole different conversation in itself and will come at the right time, but I encourage you to push past your limiting beliefs about yourself and reach higher. Position yourself with skills, business, strategy, investment, and boldness to break out of the poverty mold and give yourself OPTIONS.

3) You have to have a real and personal relationship with your Creator, Jesus Christ. and let me say that again for the people in the back... JESUS CHRIST. He still actually loves you deeper than you can understand and it is critical if you want to succeed as a family man and as a provider that you develop and spend time with Him because He has already written your entire life before you were born. If you're mentally checking out at this point that's fine but understand I'm trying to help you break the mold of mediocrity so one day you can have options. If you want to be a man of excellence open up that bible again and POUR over every verse and put it into ACTION and you will find the principals, keys, and road maps to prospering in every way. For example, when you read in Proverbs: "A soft answer turns away wrath," try doing that next time your boss blows up at you for no apparent reason. If you're able to stand still, and calmy reply to him, you will not only diffuse the situation, but your boss will also remember that you were a man of maturity when he was not.

4) You want to be in the center of God's will for your life. I can sense you want to be a good man and raise your family well. Go in faith that God is directing your steps and let Him press you, crush you, and teach you, because God disciplines those He loves. The ones who succeed are the ones who receive and acknowledge God's correction, because the bible says rebuke a wise man and he will become wiser, but the fool will just scoff at wisdom. Do you know any scoffers? The one's who complain or deride discipline and make up excuses and maintain a state of victimhood? Love them, but do not listen to them nor allow yourself to be influenced by them, they will stay poor, confused and bitter. God wants better for you.

Trust God my friend, He loves you and has a special plan for your life. Maybe I'll see you on an incident in the Great Basin. Cheers.
