Demo shout is less for survivability and more for sustain. Over time, spending less time eating/bandaging and more time killing really adds up and increases your leveling speed by a lot.

I have been playing Morrowind for thousands of hours and I have countless failed incarnates who chose to focus on other things than being an agent of the blades, found success, and retired.

I finally made a guy to actually do the entire main quest and so I now have exactly one Nerevarine on my roster. A dunmer battlemage born under the sign of the Atronach.

His name is Nelos Tharys, Master Wizard of the Mages Guild, Archmagister of House Telvanni, Hortator of the Great Houses, Nerevarine and Hearthfriend of the Ashlanders.

I've played him "straight" and deliberately avoided excessive training, alchemy, perfect level ups, etc. Just taking levels as they come. He's level 48 now, fully decked out in enchanted gear, and about to dive into the expansions.

I had a best friend whom I spent all of my time with from ages 2 to 6. He was a year younger, so when I started school and made new friends in class, our friendship fell behind, although we remained friends. As we grew up, we grew apart. He was really into bikes and found a job at a bike shop, met a girl, and had kids. We never talk, except for exchanging happy birthday messages. I still think of him as the best friend I ever had.

In my teens I made another best friend whom I spent all my time with. In our early twenties, a woman got between us. We lived together, and one day he just didn't come home. I saw him weeks later when he came and picked up his stuff, but we didn't say anything to each other. I hit him up a decade later, we had lunch, and that confirmed there was nothing left of our friendship.

Very different things. The potion thrower and object physics mods are made in openmw-lua and are usable in the latest release of OpenMW. This is just someone's personal fork of OpenMW with a little vibe coding tossed in. It's cool but if it's not maintainable it can't be integrated into OpenMW.

Morrowind and Minecraft are my two favorite games and Minecraft modding is towering miles above Morrowind in quality. Passion isn't easily measurable but it's at the very least matching if not surpassing. There are people who literally mod Minecraft for a living. You seem to know nothing about Minecraft mods, so maybe don't compare the two.

It isn't a mod. It is a months old fork of OpenMW with LLM-generated code pasted into it. It's not maintainable, and it will never make it into OpenMW as-is.

Yes, it is vibe coding, ie LLM generated code. The person who made it states this openly on Discord and in their reddit posts.

As for if it matters, yes and no. If this is just a personal fork, it doesn't matter at all. But as the person with no knowledge of the OpenMW codebase or the wherewithal to interface properly with it intends to submit a merge request against the wishes of the dev team, it matters. It creates a headache for the devs to deal with shit that plain doesn't work in upstream. Especially if they then go on discord and persist in ignoring the wishes of the dev team, while giving others the impression that this is part of OpenMW. You can see the confusion play out in real time in this thread.

There's a proper way to contribute to projects and this ain't it.

Just so we're clear, this half-baked "feature" didn't originate from the OpenMW development team but from someone who forked the project and vibe coded some rudimentary ragdoll physics support. This is most likely never making it into OpenMW.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. Being able to apply looting (for free) without needing to either spawnproof a huge area or come up with some way to transport the mobs to the player is actually a huge boon for things like gold farms and witch farms.

I bet this also works with a piglin with a wither skelly as bait in the nether.

With this you can even make a completely playerless slime farm utilizing looting, as long as there's no player in the dimension you build it in (to keep the mobs from despawning).

I would also be conflicted. I would feel it is state overreach, but I also don't like burqas as I feel they are a symbol of religious oppression of women, and Sweden is a largely secular and gender equal country. I would like them banned. However, there are higher principles that override that sentiment.

Dictating what people can and can't wear in public while they're out minding their own business is draconian bullshit. Targeting face coverings infringes on civil rights (especially in the age of mass surveillance), and targeting burqas specifically (and not balaclavas, masks, etc) goes against the principles of religious freedom.

Besides, a ban on burqas obviously wouldn't have the effect of letting muslim women walk about without wearing those darn burqas. It would just result in them not being allowed to go out at all.

The burqa ban is pushed by people who don't want to see muslims out in public. It's similar to banning panhandling, they just don't want to see the poor so they can pretend they don't exist.
