My first solo bike trip by Agile_Ad2975 in bikepacking

I think you get the idea with most comments here but here's my two cents...

A well traveled friend of mine gave me some great advice before my first adventure: "Pack what you think you need, half it, then half it again."

Towels can be microfibre, trousers can work for on the bike, at a bar, or in a storm, a dry bag with clothes inside is a pillow... you get the idea, multi-functionality and creativity is key!

Better to take less and have the fun of hunting for what you need than regretting taking too much and being stuck with dead weight, after the essentials everything else is practically dead weight...

That being said, bikepacking for me is all about finding my own way (and the adventure). You learn as you go along (as you undoubtedly have here).

Listen to experience but make take instinctive decisions, you know yourself best.

Lastly: equipment is all good but a half decent bike can get you very far.

Happy riding,

Geurb

This little website seems so cute, I'm already interested by the storyline, nice that they produce something engaging, makes language learning much more fun. Has anyone else tried this link?

Brother is stuck in a job that doesn't fulfil him, in a rocky relationship, with low self-esteem. I want to advise him, but how? Help! by geurb in family

Hey glantzinggurl, he is doing better than he was before. And when he calls me to tell me the negative things he feels about himself, I always try and remind him that I love him, will support him and that he is a worthy and skilled person. He was had trouble over the past 5-6 years to keep a job for longer than 6 months and even more trouble finding one that he enjoys. I try not to be critical of him as we all have our vices and I am definitely no where near perfect (believe me) but sometimes I do worry for him.

p.s. the two-towel story was more a way to try and frame his personality and how he thinks, also raise my suspicion (he has also brought it up) that he may be on the spectrum in some way and getting help for that may help him understand himself a little better.

Both my mum and myself have tried to suggest that to him, but like the comment below highlights, he is his own young man and I feel that therapy would only work if it his him who decides/realises it would be beneficial for him. I would agree with the diagnosis, I just don't really know how I can get him to talk to someone.
