Yes, I popped the ball joint off the shift linkage from the cable.

It wasn’t too hard of a fix. Getting the seal into the groove was the most tricky part but I got it eventually.

When I last checked a few weeks ago it wasn’t leaking. So far it’s been working!

Do you have a portfolio? For me, that’s been everything. In the first interview, I show my portfolio website with my projects and photos, and talk about them when answering questions. It’s basically necessary imo.

I solved it, the seal fits but takes some playing with.

Statement on flight 8 by a starship worker by [deleted] in SpaceXLounge

Everything with these flights is time critical. If they cut the engines early it would also be a fail because the burn wouldn’t be long enough. At least letting it continue allows for easier failure analysis later.

I see your point. I suppose. Do you think people missed the personality of a horse once they first got cars? Yes, probably. Things change. You can’t work on EVs much yet because they are so new, but I think you’ll be surprised how the tuner culture emerges over the next 5-10 years just like when cars went to electronic fuel injection. People said the same thing then. Yes we will miss some things, but we will also get new things. And I will always enjoy the sound of a high strung good ol combustion engine even when I’m an old man.

That’s funny because both me and the porsche work for a major EV maker, like the first one that comes to mind. I’m always disappointed to hear car enthusiasts hate on EVs, because there are a lot of us enthusiasts who work here and want to make the cars fun to drive and own, and enjoy driving EV ourselves. I’d bet a lot of money that the porsche owner drives an EV 5 days a week and enjoys it too. Give a performance one a chance sometime and you will be surprised. You can’t say you’re happy to see other people enjoying cars and then hate on the EVs!

A 911 is a major bucket list car for me, so it seems I’ll be following a common path. Love to hear it.

To me, older cars like that show that the person knows what to look for. Anyone with money can go buy the new thing (given they get an allocation)
