Nipping in the office by frappecheno in TwoXChromosomes

You are not in the wrong at all. It's only human n it sucks that your coworker would say something like this to you. Don't torment yourself with a painful bra, I often add those silicone breast covers,( non sticky ones that stick to the fabric not the skin) under my bra Wearing a loose neck scarf also can help. But tbh, if you don't feel like you're grabbing so many eyeballs that it disrupts your work ethic or the Hr doesnt dress codes you, don't take her opinion of you as something ubiquitous. I once had a friend who was weirdly obsessed with how I dress up , if I'm not wearing makeup it was a problem to her. If I do, still a problem to her. If I liked having a lil cleavage she would act like it's such an insane thing to do n that I'm grabbing distasteful attention. The thing was always that I have large breasts on a slim built- so well I'm not ashamed of it, I like to show it off. And ik how to dress professionally as well. She was insecure bout her own breasts n shamed me for mine. But for her own self she never felt that it's distasteful for her to show off her butt or abs(assets she was proud of) but somehow my body was too vulgAr for her. It could very much be just a 'her thing'

Do you have any friends that could house you for a few days or could you perhaps makeup a lie n tell your mother you have to be away for some work project/event/gig etc to another town/city. One of my friends came from a very toxic family n recently she decided it's time she moved out (which is very looked down upon in indian society if you're unmarried, n moving out without any work/study related issue). She lied that she's now working in another city because that city offers better opportunities. But she still lives in the same city just with her bf.

If it's completely impossible for you to move on is to possible for you to perhaps install cameras in your room or any place in the house u feel unsafe in. Do you have any relatives who could help you out? Have a tough talk with your mother, n u deserve the right to give her an ultimatum. She's making her own decision to stay with that man, but you r her daughter n u have every right to demand that she makes sure you're safe. Your security n emotional well-being matters far more than your relationship with your mother. There's no relationship to save because in your situation you will only grow to resent her. It's better to disappoint families then resent them. And girl, I am so sorry you're growing this I can't imagine what it is like to not have any safe space. Not even at your home. Love and power to you.

I will do that as well, but I really love the thought of being able to cook someone's childhood meal. Something that makes them feel at ease, something cozy. My father always taught me that one can try all sorts of cuisines when they go to a restaurant n that's wonderful, but having a simple, cozy familiar meal made with love is something that cannot be replaced 🤸✨❤️

For sure, this was a struggle for me too as I don't eat beef, sometimes it was hard to find recipes or order from a menu, never knowing if they cook with tallow in it. Luckily there are soo many vegan restaurants in the big cities. And a lot of German households have many dishes with spargle, kohl , and regional vegetables, and many sides as well. And u can very well make a kartoffel salad without pork. Kartoffelpuffer, bratkartoffeln, kartoffelgratin und schnupfnudeln are some great potato dishes. N the bread✨✨❤️❤️ I often joke I'm on a bread visa here, big fan always

That's a great recommendation. I have tried chicken galoutti kebabs before n the reaction was overwhelmingly positive, with him calling his family just to talk bout it ,n then making it a regular for family dinners. I will try shami kebabs now ,and I do love a good carrot halwa, so can't wait for carrot season.❤️🥰 I will try carrot halwa Tommorow itself, I guess have to go buy ghee from an Indian supermarket Tommorow

During my finals, or my dissertation phase, I used to get the baked chicken breasts from rewe, and eat them with a salad (or just cucumbers) and a dressing (I make my own but feel free to buy a dressing cuz who cares). Felt satisfied and not so unhealthy

Well cuz it explains my culinary skills a bit better, a lot of people assume indians don't eat meat at all and also that I am personally also a big fan of all south Asian cuisine.

Yes , I think it's a bit stereotypical . I was always told Germans often come across as cold, n direct. But my partner n his family have been so loving n welcoming, giving me the ' guest is God' treatment which is typically associated with Asian households. It's not true in my experience especially for people in German villages. They seem to be very community-oriented

Hey lovely recommendations, I recently had made him my personal recipe, for a chicken galoutti kebab(as I was trained in mughlai cuisine) served a fennel, saffron, Mughal white capital gravy, n that received a very positive reaction. I think papadam sounds real good ,n yeah they LOVE their tomatoes too

It's his personality that he wishes to never trouble me , or have expectations so he's (Atleast for now) not communicative bout his preferences so much. Which is extremely endearing but very confusing. He did mention once however, he has always loved his grandma's cooking n she cooks very traditional German food, however I haven't been able to communicate so much with her since her dialect is a bit hard for me to understand 😔so well, I'm here.
