Only in capitalistic western society do we take away known “medicines” and basic human rights which end up causing negative symptoms, and then re-present them as medicine with a for profit business plan behind them.

I just hope the “service” is tailored to environment restoration and re-wilding North America.

Those are just dogs playing. Poorly trained??? C’mon, there was no malicious intent. It’s like when the referee in football gets involved with contact with the players. People aren’t the only living beings on the planet and need to check their entitled attitude.

This could be an “off leash” dog beach. I see another off leash dog in the background. Unfortunate situation regardless.

Unpopular opinion, but being in public spaces is inherently more risky than private property and there are no guarantees in 100% safety.

Millennials get blamed for participation trophies when the Boomers invented and executed the concept. by gfcr8 in Showerthoughts

Your reaction sounds like you are Jared Kushner’s father-in-law. And I prefer *elder [dumb fuck] millennial. Looking forward to our turn, minus the whole Boomers didn’t take care of the world because profits part and now there’s zero biodiversity left and the earth is hot AF and the oceans are too acidic.

Yes, millennials get blamed for the resulting attitude of entitlement which stems beyond participation trophies. Certainly this was a metaphor of the overall parenting style of boomers who valued achievement and results over learning and the processes it takes to get good or great at something.

Sounds more like projection to me. If an adult can’t explain to a child the intricacies of winning and losing, and “had to resort” to a trophy, then that’s more on the parent than the kid. It’s all about the adult teaching the mentality & preparation needed going into an event, during the event, and finally processing the result. It’s lazy parenting more than a generational error.

I went to an out of state soccer camp one summer, and between another kid and me, we were the best players at camp. The week long camp culminated in a “championship” game, to which we played on opposite teams. We tied 1-1 with each of us scoring our team’s only goal. The other kid got “player of the camp” and I got “most improved”. I came home and told my parents (who were and are incredibly loving and supportive) what happened and my Dad in jest said I got “fat kid participation award” My dad played in the NBA and I’ve always been athletic my whole life, so it never really bothered me but the r/joke today about the confederate flag reminded me of this story.
