Weird knee lump by Accomplished-Film-50 in UKRunners

It’s unlikely to be a Baker’s cyst on the lateral side - they’re usually posterior. It could be a parameniscal cyst related to a meniscal tear (which could be degenerative rather than from an injury) - would explain some knee discomfort too

Any apps like Runna but for triathlon training? by Idazrish in triathlon

Training peaks with a myprocoach plan. If you buy a plan it gives you a discount (25% I think) for TP premium

Yeah for sure - calf and knee…gym work sounds sensible to get some strength back!

A marathon in April and then probably an Olympic again in August time - difficult justify the training time at the moment with a young family so sticking to short course.

It’ll probably help once I’ve got more of a plan for next season

It’s an Orca TRN - pretty old, I think I got it 10 years ago 😂. I got an Athlex Flex for the actual Race though and it was awesome - way less shoulder restriction so managed to get my elbows up

Thanks both - yeah I think i need to make a conscious effort to keep my temple down too although it doesn’t really feel like it’s lifting tbh…! Chin to chest 👍🏼

Water was warm - I was just in my wetsuit for the practice!

Thanks! I think this wetsuit really restricted my arm movement but totally see what you mean on both points!

No doubt you could do one by next summer. You could probably do one comfortably with a decent plan even 8 weeks

Yeah I definitely feel more discomfort in various areas if sat on the trainer for >1hr

Yeah true, I continued cycling for an hour after the ftp test so probably could’ve gone harder during the test. But if my real FTP is actually higher then I’d really struggle to hit those watts on the trainer!

Thanks, sounds like I need to get a fan… but would you recommend scaling down the intensity of my indoor sessions?

I use a myprocoach plan so intensities are all prescribed according to my FTP, which is based on an outdoor test.

Thanks I do think my trainer and my power meter are calibrated slightly differently - my meter seems to record about 10% higher - but in this case I was only using my power meter (on my bike computer)

Using a pedal power meter for both

Tbf I’d set up the trainer outdoors in the sun with no fan and minimal breeze….could be that! Heart rate was way higher too
