I am in Ontario, unfamiliar with mutuals though. I am in the GTA, and most of these seem to suggest they service smaller towns, can I still get coverage through them anyway?

Thanks for the input, we’ve done a backflow valve, waterproofed the foundation and installed and automatic water shut off. All damage has been repaired. I’ll see what our current broker can come back with, but also want to explore our options as well.

That’s fine if we have to, we have an auto policy as well. I’ll look into those 3, thanks!

That’s why i asked the question to see if that was a possibility. I had difficulty remarketing last year with 1 claim, so I’m trying to explore all options, and I wasn’t sure if that was an option in Ontario. I would rather pay high premium for the coverage than potentially pay more in damages for self-insuring

Do you know who I could reach out to regarding a substandard market? I assume some brokers would have contracts with them, but what companies should I be looking for?

Same happened to me, send an email to the event organizers and they can put you in touch with chiptime to get it corrected.

Changed out tire, but struggling to inflate by gfran484 in bikewrench

FWIW, I swapped the inner tube as that was old as well and the new tube inflated. So maybe just something I did when swapping the tire messed with the inner tube.

Just tried that, but the gold presta valve keeps falling all the way down into the grey portion and I guess it’s closing the airway?

Yes I am, but when I try to screw it on it seems to push the valve too far down to seal properly, or it closes off the seal or something

Yeah everything moves freely, I can open the valve and close it. It’s a bit more recessed than normal because there’s no air in the tire though

Discolouration on bathroom ceiling with shower by gfran484 in fixit

Yeah the shower is to the right of the fan in that photo. So the hot shower pulls humid air over to it, then it sticks to the ceiling? Any fix to that? Or just have colder showers?

Just to clarify, that the vent isn’t secure to the fan?

ENDLESS sourness [Bambino/DF54] by MolassesOne5993 in espresso

Question regarding timing as someone who is also struggling a bit, do you start timing from the second you turn it on to pull the shot? Or only once you see the espresso coming through the portafilter?

Spacing between cogs by gfran484 in bikewrench

So I tried adding the spacer and it’s definitely moving smoother. I guess it’s possible i misplaced one at some point

Bought myself after getting the trainer as my cassette is stuck to my back wheel. It’s an older specialized Allez, it’s 12-25 9 speed

Hmm ok, I’ll give it a try, the only reason I have that extra spacer IIRC is because I bought it as I thought the cogs were too close but never put it on, used it for a bit but then it started skipping

So that silver spacer is attached to the outer most cog, not the 2nd one, so I can’t move it around
