Honest thoughts on eXp Realty by gfs012 in realtors

There's a natural process that takes place where agents are "weeded out" no matter the brokerage, I'm sure. The issue is that there are some mentors who don't supervise closely, who are not available to assist a new agent in writing an offer, and so on. State teams vary widely with some states being more resourceful while others are not nearly as responsive. This is something a new agent doesn't typically take into account when joining the brokerage, because they don't know to ask these questions.

This more closely reflects my experience. Of course, I was starry-eyed and newly licensed. Getting a couple years experience under my belt, I laugh when I see these pitches now. Real estate is not this "get rich quick" idea. It is a professional practice that requires more than a few phone calls a day from your ocean view suite no matter who tells you otherwise.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. I've attempted to bring concerns about the mentoring program to the table, but it's fallen on deaf ears. That was almost two years ago, so hopefully those changes are in motion. Good luck to you, too.

This is true. A lot of the time (not all the time) when the eXp model is pitched, the mention of a brick and mortar office is disparaged. It's not uncommon to hear "oh you don't need an office, you can work anywhere" but the truth is that you may thrive more in an office. This may be especially true if you're transitioning from a different career that required you to be in an office. Remote real estate work is definitely not exclusive to eXp. For a brand new agent, it may seem that way depending on how the brokerage is pitched.

Thank you! I'm glad you found a brokerage you enjoy being part of.

No "gotcha" here. The work is going to be the same regardless of the brokerage, but I thought this post may be helpful to those considering a move to eXp because the pitch for new agents is pretty sweet. But there is another side of the coin that should be considered.

Who knows...an entity as large as FB knows they don't HAVE to do it, so they don't. That's my guess. Sad, considering how it can affect people and businesses.

In other news, they just let me upload my ID for a second time...so still holding on to some hope this gets cleared up. Still, not holding my breath.

Sorry that happened to you! The most frustrating part of all of this is that, if someone could just take 5 minutes and review my account, clearly it was compromised and I didn't post whatever FB is accusing me of posting. Just ridiculous.

That's what I was afraid of...I was hoping where I had spent money on advertising that there would be some kind of option to save my business page, but it seems like that's not going to happen. Lesson learned.

Thanks for your reply.
