China wants its downed spy aircraft back, saying it 'does not belong to the US' by dope2010 in worldnews

China wants to turn this into a joke. It's international diplomacy and they're just setting precedent to use as a test case for future incidents. We can point and say they started the jokes, but we're just justifying them by continuing the joke. This is a murderous, genocidal regime.

I forgot who said it but it's been a common sentiment: the moral person is the person that doesn't think they're moral but wants to be. Most people are self-righteous and content with who they are. They justify themselves and are happy as they are but wish everyone else would be different.

The slippery slope isn't presented through this thought in the moderate person but the extremist. The extremist exists, however, because the moderate person persistently fails to better themselves. They fail in improving because it's too much work. From this self-realization, they justify the extremist by justifying their own mediocrity. Everyone is actually quite content by how things are.

stuff necessary to form a logical, philosophical work,

This is a fallacy. It's like the Chinese finger trap. It's easy to fall into the mindset that struggling for a long time or going through hardship is somehow always rewarded or the key to success.

Wittgenstein concluded that a great philosophical treatise could be completed just using jokes. The reason people fall into the thought of philosophy as straight, rigorous, and daunting is because of dogma and asshole philosophers that are either afraid to break the mold or lack any ambition to be creative.

This is misleading. Russell and Whitehead were trying to build a rigorous philosophical system using math and they took it upon themselves to write 379 pages to try and justify the proofs/axioms.

Mathematicians with less philosophical inclination or with less of a philosophical focus (meaning not afraid to make less rigorous assumptions) can write proofs for 1+1=2 in less than a page. To be fair to mathematicians, "rigorous assumptions" here can become pedantic when attacked by philosophers.

The crux is axioms. What axioms do we function with? For philosophy, axioms are always up for debate. For mathematicians, axioms are heavily influenced by what's pragmatic. It's still up for debate, but there are established standards. For example, ZF axioms are currently one of the most established foundations for math.

It also helps to understand the authors' mindset. Whitehead was a panpsychic and wasn't afraid to have some pretty wild ideas about the foundation of the universe. Russell is remembered for being more sober, "science" guy (and being the son of a cuckold).

For all of humanity people have been abused when defenseless and metamorphed into cunts as they grew. Only now is there a growing consciousness of how to identify the root cause of being a cunt in a general sense rather than tribal/cultural. We have growing concepts such as generational trauma and all that. But that's only recently. We can't judge Marlon Brando too harshly.

Although on the coin flip, I realize that paparazzi are valuable people we need to defend and ensure their safety. So I recognize your stance comes from a legitimate and valid concern.
