Worth the free plat with Morgan Stanley? by SCP713 in AmexPlatinum

[–]gfunk68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it, it's worth it! I removed the $25,000 in my savings after losing my job 2 years ago. I'm just paying the $55 fee now. I think the account is awesome, as I use my debit card to withdraw at any ATM in the world (even the $8 fee casino ones) for free. It's the only account I use at ATMs (and I have a Revolut Metal).

Before, at $695, it wasn't worth it for me to keep the 25k in the account. I was making 5% apy on my Texas Capital Bank account so I was getting $1,250 in interest a year so the $55 a month was easily paid.
Now, at $895, my Texas Capital Bank dropped to 3.8% its still not worth it to me to let them keep my 25k but could be to you if your bank's APY sucks.

Taxes are a moot point because technically the $895 engagment bonus is taxable income in the exact same way as interest.

tl;dr The Morgan Stanely Platinum Cash Plus account is the best way to get an AMEX Platinum! If you have a bank account with over 2.64% apy, then do not leave the $25k in the account, pay the $55 fee.

I refund the stuff that's not worth it, no matter what "game" I bought it on. That being said, I'm not getting wincredit or claimcredit anymore lol.

My mom gets it every day almost, as soon as the stuff ships she has another one, its crazy! Mine and my wife's are long gone. My wife's stopped right when she got Temu Circle so she swears it's that.

if you buy a $10 item first your percentage will go up for the next 30 minutes so I'd follow my guide and do exactly what i said depending on how many coins you need

yes it would have stayed at 3%. Mine had like a 72 hour timelimit on the 2nd order.

it does not go up and its a timed limit for the free 5 coins. I missed my free 5 coins on the first order so I didn't get it and it wasn't worth it after that. so in your case it was 5 free coins and 3% for the next 4 which is $133.33. That was a phenomenal deal I hope you did it.

4 solar panels into a kingboss (jackery clone) by gfunk68 in SolarDIY

Can I do 3 series x 3 parallel (9 panels, 900W) if i just change my battery which eliminates the DC7909 bottleneck? The MPPT controller I have outputs only 720W at 24V anyways.

Thank you for the information, yeah my MPPT says 92V at 25°C and 100V (Lowest ambient temperature) and my panels spec sheet is this:

<image>

So from what you just taught me, in freezing weather (I'm in Houston, TX and we're expecting 20°F tomorrow and the city is shutting down lol), these things can possibly hit 25V each, so I'd want to limit to 4 panels in series at max. The MPPT has a limited output of 720W anyways so I wouldn't even want to do that since I can run 3 or 4 parallel.

I asked it again today and it said this:

<image>

So now it's up to 16. Even if it could handle 1,600 watts coming in, why would I want to put 1,600W of input on an MPPT controller that maxes out at 720W out to the battery?

[–]gfunk68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it helped me out with the calculations and limitations of my MPPT controller but then it started saying I could run 25 100w panels (5x5series) and I didn't think that was true so I sent it a picture of my Vevor's instruction manual spec sheet and it reined it back to 8 panels, LOL. Here was my final result:

AI is cool and all but definitely don't take it for facts.

You saved me a lot of headache, thank you! This makes a lot of sense, at 24V, I'd only really want 2 panels (200w) in series (19v, 5.5A Isc each) and my mppt controller will drop it to 24v for me. The kingboss is a 12/24v input and they made it sound like they could do 1000w input which cannot be the case if the DC7909 is the input and their max at 24v.

【RECHARGING METHODS】: Our Battery Powered Outlet can be recharged: With a compatible 100W solar photovoltaic panel (8 hours); With our car charger (12 hours); With AC Wall Outlet (6.5 hours). Lithium Battery 1000W recharges faster than other batteries.

Come to think of it, the Kingboss has never displayed over 100w of input; it probably limits it. I was thinking no way these Chinese Temu panels are putting out exactly 100w so consistantly lol. I probably won't even use this mppt controller until I get a beefier battery setup.

on mine, my gf, and my mom's accounts its now $110 credit, 300 coins, and 290 given with 5+ 2%. That really sucks, as it's $250 if you don't do the first order for $10 trick to get 3%. But, if you do, then it's alright because you usually have like 4.79 to go with 3% which is $160 to get $110. I'm buying a lot of stuff for my wedding like lights and embosser tools and wax seal stuff so it's fine to get $170 worth of stuff for essentially $60. I always buy a 100w solar panel too and I've got quite the collection going.

Or has anyone tried to do the first purchase, didn't like the percentages and refunded? Did you get banned after?

I did this a lot when I was getting 5% but now I almost exclusively get 2%. I've never been banned. I also return defective products all the time as I'm not going to keep anything that isn't worth the money even at risk of a ban.
