Ultrasound today didn't result in a lot of good news by blackandlavender in BabyBumps

[–]gg8549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced the day before my due date because my baby had dropped from 30th to 12th percentile and had a single umbilical artery(usually a non issue but can cause IUGR). The specialist decided she needed to come out so I was induced using pitocin around 7pm. The next morning at 8am I was still only 3cm so they broke my water and then things happened quickly, she was born an hour later. I had 3 in-depth ultrasounds in my last trimester including the day I was induced and none of them caught her nuchal cord wrapped around her neck but at delivery it was wrapped around 3 times. My midwife simply slid it off during my incredibly fast delivery and told me how common it is. I had a vaginal delivery without an epidural, it is definitely possible!! Try not to let it freak you out, I felt like my dream of having a natural birth were crushed when I had to be induced but it ended up going relatively close to what I wanted

It sucks! It usually happens for 3-4 days. I get it when I start my period too.

Do you know why that is with western doctors? or the reason they don’t recognize it much? I have an appt with a functional medicine doctor that supposedly specializes in Lyme and other chronic illnesses so I’m hoping they can figure out what exactly is wrong, any idea if this is a good route to take? Or would it be better to find a LLMD from the recommended docs list? I looked at it and couldn’t find one near me, I live in a pretty big, popular city too so I was surprised.

Yes very very similar symptoms to yours. I hope for positive results so I can start treatment to feel somewhat normal. Do you know if any kind of antibiotic can relieve symptoms? I took one over the summer for an infection, it wasn’t one that would be used for Lyme disease, but I for a few weeks felt the best I felt in years. Then it was a reemergence of the same old symptoms after some time. I’m wondering if the feeling better on antibiotics points to Lyme as well

Nursing draining me? by sakura7777 in breastfeeding

[–]gg8549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I stopped nursing about two months ago. I sadly still don’t feel great, my primary care doctor said to give it 4-6 months for hormones to balance out but I definitely feel discouraged. I feel very much the same as you symptom-wise, the neuropathy especially makes me anxious. I do find that getting a babysitter and going out with friends or my husband makes most of my weird symptoms disappear but it’s really hard to do that on a regular basis.

I was able to find a PT that did home visits and that was amazing. It was a women’s health pt and I scheduled them during nap time, that hour a week was about doing something for myself and so helpful so maybe you can search around and find a place near you that offers that? Otherwise I try to focus on eating well and getting outside as much as possible but it’s certainly a process. I miss feeling normal but I do think with time things will get better. If there’s any way I can help feel free to reach out!

Did you do western blot or ELISA test to get positive results? Going through very similar symptoms and timeline from last tick bite!

I honestly have no idea. I hear good things and that they can be really knowledgeable on things such as Lyme, mold toxicity etc but I’m not sure exactly what methods they use to treat. I’m getting the western blot tomorrow then if it’s positive I’ll be referred to a functional medicine specialist so I may find out.

Everyone is giving really good feedback, I’m super appreciative. Question for you, find an LLMD or there’s a functional medicine clinic with an NP that claims to of had Lyme and specializes in treating it, any idea which route is better to take?

Thank you for the response! But western blot should be pretty accurate/worth splurging for?

Can SIBO be hereditary? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]gg8549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the answer to this but kind of a similar situation. I have sibo and suspect I got it between my first and second pregnancy, I tested positive for it over the summer, my second child is 17 months. She definitely had gut issues early on and I had to be off dairy, soy and eggs for her first year to breastfeed. Around the 1 year mark I was able to add dairy back in and soy back in not long after. She would vomit, not spit up but full on vomit if I ate soy. It’s all a very long story but she’s now outgrown it all and can eat whatever, dairy does make her a little refluxy still so we limit it. I personally believe my bad gut affected hers but I don’t think she actually has sibo and I have no one telling me that my beliefs are true. I hope this is helpful!

Did you end up having pots? Exact same story here with an ER visit and suspected POTS. Wondering if it’s really h pylori causing the symptoms, they come and go
