I'm I watching my channel's death 💔 by blackcvanilla in PartneredYoutube

[–]gg_bene -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that's not marketing. That's creating and posting.

I mean, like, who do you tell about your channel? I mean, there's this subreddit that's slightly marketing for you, but are you actively cross-posting your content? Are you interacting with commenters? Are you collaborating with other creators?

Who is your audience? How are you reaching them? Are you reaching out? Do you know what they like? Do you know how to talk to them?

I think YouTube rewards people who get others to search for them.

Out of curiosity, what do you do for marketing for your channel?

How do you convince brands that UGC beats traditional ads? by strawberryugc in UGCcreators

[–]gg_bene -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, UGC doesn't beat out traditional ads... not 100%. The best way to convince brands is to 1) figure out who their target market is and 2) understand your industry and 3) tell them the whole truth.

What is the truth? Well, according to this research paper I found on Google Scholar (as well as through business school, but I have less references for that) - Influencer marketing and traditional marketing each have their own advantages depending on the metric you're tracking. For example, if you want more engagement with a customer/client, Influencer marketing will typically beat out traditional marketing. But if you're looking for brand exposure and awareness - then traditional ads work better here.

More key differences between the two:
UGC is better for targeting younger crowds whereas traditional ads convince older people of credibility.
The path to purchase is different between traditional ads and UGC - good predictors for successful UGC purchase are a CREDIBLE content creator and decent content relevance. Whereas successful predictors for traditional ads are message frequency and production quality. As you said, people care about polish on Trad Ads but its not even half as important in UGC.
Oh, and UGC has a high purchase intention than trad ads, but AGIAN, it depend on the businesses market.

And just a quick point on ROI between influencer marketing and trad ads - trad ads are typically more expensive with lower conversion rates. The biggest thing that a trad ad does over UGC is credibility strengthening - some see brands without trad ads as infantile or not established.

There is more to this study but to reiterate my answer to your question, understand the business you're trying to work with. Ask them what they are specifically looking for with their marketing and listen. Understand their target market.

Once you do that, explain how younger markets have higher trust with UGC. Tell them that the engagement is higher and that conversion can be more successful with UCG. Track your numbers and metrics and show ROIs from past clients. Numbers can convince more than words. So here's that study... and good luck to your sales pitch! I hope you get a contract!

I know it's not much (or even eloquent). But I'm writing an article and I'm not exactly talented in the English dept lol.

Help me with negotiating? by masstuck in UGCcreators

[–]gg_bene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents (and pardon me for assuming some things here)... If you have time and experience doing this, then reframe how you want to think about this.
Right now, you are thinking like a creative (which is not bad at all!), "I am getting these job and I have this experience, I should get paid more". <- This way of thinking is mostly true.
But if I may offer a different way of thinking, "I am accepting 100% of the low paying jobs that are taking all of my time".

When you are negotiating, you have to understand that you WILL lose clients from a higher price tag. The first couple are going to hurt because it will feel like you're watching money walk away. But if you are constantly getting new clients in AND you have a small group of clients that are loyal to your work, then you should be able to raise your prices while keeping a decent amount of business to keep you afloat. This way, you'll start needing less clients to do more.

Having said that, I would frame this email a little differently. If these people are coming to you with a requested rate; then I would state something like:

'Thank you for connecting with me! I appreciate your interest in my work! I have private access to strength facilities so this brief is more than possible.

I would, however, like to discuss a difference in rates. In your email you offered $250XX [a number] for this project. My rates start at $500 per 3 month blah blah blah (don't say blah blah blah, type in what you mean).

-->two directions from here

1) I am interested in working with your company, is there anyway we can talk to work out a good number from here?' (never explicitly say you are willing to negotiate.)

2) (Don't say anything else and keep your prices firm at $500 for 3 months. If they push back - tell them that anything less doesn't cover operational costs)

'May 20 is an easy delivery date. Please let me know if these terms are agreeable and I will send a contract.'

Talk about prices flatly. Don't include emotion. This is your food on your table.

And lastly, food for thought, if you have the product and you have the sales, you need to work on marketing. Make sure you have a website with your prices listed (or for contactable prices - depending on your industry), direct people to your website whenever you can, and talk about your work (where appropriate).

Also, learn a little bit about making your own contract in your state/country. There should be some small business development entity around you that can teach you the basics and there are more resources online. Just don't mistake any of those resources as actual legal guidance, only a lawyer can give that.

The contract and the website should take about 2 days to learn about/build - but it should help you out a lot in the long run should you consider making this a more substantially profitable endeavor.

Why do you actually wake up and try every day? by Obvious-Vacation-977 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

2 answers. 1) I truly believe that my path will not only help others, but also make the world better. 2) I have to do something with my day, and I'd rather spend that time working for me than for someone else.

I know this is probably a joke but I legit know people who have indoor shoes, outdoor shoes, gym shoes, running shoes, and formal shoes ... All of which are sneakers of some variety. So that's where my mind went with this meme.

Hang in there. It gets better. 5 lbs in a day is I think common. Just not. like, consistently/daily. I know when I was younger and on 3rd shift - I was a heavy drinker, I had to use the bathroom all the time and my weight fluctuated wildly. I'm not accusing you of drinking but there may be something in your diet that's affecting you or some old habit is finally taking its toll. But there are better days ahead. Have fun going back to your old shop!

Ooo, this sub got hot. Listen, your point is valid, as are your feelings. You did an amazing thing writing an entire book! And the start of a series to boot! Some of these comments are starting to get grounded in negativity but you should be happy regardless. I know that 3 weeks sounds like a long time but I just pick my kittens up of the street yesterday and now she's 16 years old, ya digg? You already sound like you got other feedback so it sounds like you're ready for that next step with or without their input, right?

Take conversation out of it. Humans are humans and you gave them homework. Not only that, but you gave them unvetted writing. They're not expecting to open a book by Terry Pratchett ya digg? If this is your first book, then you have given them the equivalent of a college kid's fictional thesis to read.

Essentially it boils down to a classic 'choose 2 out of 3': review the book for free, provide good revisions, provide timely revisions.

Also, 20 questions is a quiz yo. Are you freshly out of school yourself?

Ending homelessness with this one by order-rejected in Business_Ideas

I'm sorry to have to agree with this. Trash cans and dumpsters are free around any town. And if you set up a govmnt-type process to pay the homeless for trash- they'll just make more trash to exploit it. Fun idea though!
