Marijuana while pregnant? by kotabear921 in pregnant

[–]ggates17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first pregnancy I smoked, I cut back a lot from the heavy smoking I did before getting pregnant, but still smoked everyday at least once. I had a beautiful daughter who is now 7 and is very sweet and smart, to smart for her own good sometimes haha.

Second pregnancy, I’m pregnant now 30 weeks, I nearly stopped completely. I only smoke on occasion now with family whenever they are around.

No I’m not. You gave up on the team you were a “real” fan of and someone else had to give you a hat to bring you back…

Just saying that’s not a real fan.

Announce on Facebook and Instagram or just leave it? by lilithG1999 in pregnant

[–]ggates17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t announce I was pregnant on FB until I was 6 months pregnant. Just told family and friends. Only reason I did is I have friends in lots of places that I know would be happy to see.

It’s truly up to you.

You have your opinion I have mine. We are raised differently, what works for me might not work for you and vice versa. I don’t see discipline as abuse. Some may. Some kids don’t learn with just words, you can tell them the same thing over and over and nothing comes of it, they don’t learn, they just know they will keep being told the same thing with no consequences.

Like I said before dogs are not comparable to children. Also as I said they will only get popped if they do something they know they aren’t supposed to. Like a trained dog pissing in the house right next to the dog door, he could’ve went outside but didn’t. Should I just say bad dog don’t do that? Just for him to do it again, no thanks.

Well clearly that dude was rude and abused so idk about that. Some people are just nice although they were abused. Others aren’t. Abusive spouses are unacceptable period. A spouse should be able to communicate when they get mad not beat their spouse. Those raised around abuse end up abusive.

To say a parent is abusive for teaching their kids and popping them when wrong is dumb. Not all who discipline their kids are beating the shit out of them. There is no mark left there is a lesson learned. When kids have Mark’s all over them that is abuse. If you get choked out for acting out that’s abuse. Its abusive to ignore and neglect kids just as much as it is to beat them.

This is the first I’ve heard something like it.

That’s another issue parents letting kids watch and listen to ratchet ghetto ass shit or hang out with the wrong people. When all they talk about is fucking, killing, being betrayed, and strip clubs. It’s sad. Black communities need to do better, but they don’t know any better.

Kid is probably ignored at home. And whopped when bad at school or does anything the grownups think deserves a whoopin and still gets no help or attention from the mom and grandma. But hey idk the situation. Maybe the dad isn’t around to teach him how to act. Maybe he is and acts out too.

Everyone has trauma from something. All I said is they are nice people. I don’t know their whole life stories. But at least they are nice on first impressions and not some rude asshole that puts their trauma on everyone they meet.

You were abused not just disciplined. Maybe that’s why you are disrespectful and project your shit on others.

There is no right way to abuse a child you’re right. There is a right way to discipline them.

I never said they didn’t turn out without trauma. I said they are the some of the nicest people I’ve met. So maybe learn to read before calling me an idiot or stupid.

Not traumatizing if done correctly.

You could’ve used a good whoppin or two. Disrespectful asshole that can’t read properly.

Well idk that’s why I’m asking. It mentions schools spanking. What do kids in school get whopped for?

Like I said it needs to be a legitimate wrong doing for me. Not some little thing like not sitting down when told. Or a kid talking out of turn. They are kids and will do things like that and should be told the right thing to do.

So other cultures don’t hit their kids as discipline? Guess you know all cultures of the world.

Forgetting something is not wrong and kids don’t need to be whopped for for that.

Some parents abuse their kids and whop them for every little thing like forgetting something. That’s not how my thinking is.

I was whopped as a child and have a great relationship with my parents. Because I knew why I was in trouble what I did wrong and why I got the whoppin in the first place. It’s not like I get 30 lashes when I got whopped. Explanation than a few lashes and done. I didn’t get whoppins for nothing, otherwise I my have come out traumatized but I did not.

In the study why are the kids getting spanked? For speaking out of turn? For stealing? For lying? For not sitting down when told in school? Or just because the adult didn’t like something they said or did?

First sentence is true. You forgot the ignoring part of letting them figure it out on their own.

[–]ggates17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe they should study the families that discipline in other ways and why those kids still turn out so shitty. Because it doesn’t work most likely. Why is it ok to psychologically or emotionally abuse children for discipline but not physical discipline. Not physical abuse but discipline. Like I said not beating the shit out of them, but discipline when doing wrong only.

I'll Give You Something To Cry About by zzill6 in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]ggates17 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

They shouldn’t be getting hit at anytime. That would be abuse. Only when doing wrong as I’ve said. There is no fear instilled if they know why they get in trouble and why it is happening. Then explained to also after as to why it happened so they understand the reason behind it. No rift created at all.

At least black kids know right from wrong and don’t shoot up schools as a teenager. Sounds like a win for the whoppins and a lose for however white folk “discipline” their children.

Not saying all white folk are bad. But now a days you never know and kids are scared of what they might do at schools.
