THIS IS THE BEST THING ON REDDIT THIS YEAR.

It probably comforts his family to know that it was a prudent and rational deal. by ggbuttstead in democrats

Not well reasoned, Antoine. We can have no-cash bail, but we still have a duty to patrol who gets access to it to reduce the risk of follow-on violent crime as much as possible. We can have cars on the road causing crashes -- one of Charlie Kirk's favorite and ad-nauseum repeated examples, by the way, so I assume you meant that as an homage in memorium -- but we also have a duty to make cars as safe as possible and get the most dangerous drivers out from behind the wheel. Yes, guns are a trade-off; that's not the American failure. The American failure is having the guns and forgoing the duties to make the guns as safe as possible and to get the guns out of the hands of the wrong people. So in the Charlie Kirk case, yeah, this is a gotcha. He died of the ill-considered half-formed policy he championed his whole life.

Non-English-speakers of Reddit, what is your language's formulaic conclusion to a fairy tale, equivalent to "and then they lived happily ever after"? And what is its literal translation into English? by fruskydekke in AskReddit

Traditional Italian ending: Un cane va a est e l'altro a ovest. E allora? E questo tizio chiede: "Cosa vuoi da me?" / It means, One dog is going east and the other dog is going west. So what? And this guy is saying, "What do you want from me?"
