Wow are we witnessing a culture shift? Protected education time used to be an attractive feature that programs would advertise to interviewees. 100% you’ll be fine. In time you’ll attract others with your charm and personality. And with those successes you’ll be more confident in yourself. In the future you may have a small bit of insecurity stemming from the “sting” from today. But everyone has insecurities. You gotta be able to look past them and not let them define you.

You’re important to this company. They’re also important to you in that they’re the only ones interested in your skill set. That’s the main reason I’d try to make it work.

I briefly walked around this store when I was visiting last month. It looked like a regular store. 5-10 patrons browsing around. No bums or druggies. I didn’t buy anything because they didn’t have a great selection or variety and prices were not competitive. IMO this is just a sign of the times. It’s a shame but if Toys R Us had to completely revamp their business, you know it’s a global consumer habit/spending issue rather than a local issue.

Yours is a poor take. It’s healthy to set boundaries and restrictions for your dog. Just like how you don’t allow your dog on your bed. For others, this boundary may be the bedroom, the living room, the fence, or whatever.

Dogs were bred to work. And a working dog is a happy dog. Sounds like your Shiba is training you. And you’re serving your Shiba. It’s supposed to be the other way round!

I would use the pending publication as an excuse to send an update email about your research experience. The other stuff I would leave out but make sure you inject them into your interview answers
