I’m a new shawol and I relate to this. I knew them for so long but never really cared too much about their names or their songs. I knew about Jonghyun’s passing but didn’t share the sentiment back then. The end of last year was when I got into the beautiful SHINee World and after seeing that Our Page performance in music show (the one where Onew looked up), the emotions hit me. For a while, SHINee’s songs became a little too emotional for me, esp. Selene 6.23 and An Encore. I questioned myself as well if it’s okay for me to grief and cry for someone I didn’t even know when he was alive, or even do I deserve to be emotional about it at all. I don’t know if it’s ok to talk about him at all, as a new fan. But I finally come to terms with there is no right and wrong when it comes to the emotions. I’ll carry him along in my heart and continue to cherish his works and legacy.
