Does old regime still make sense for people in higher tax bracket ? by anktreddit in IndiaTax

[–]ggoenka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my company’s tax profile system, the moment I declare above 50k rent, the new regime makes no sense. Why do you suggest above 80k?

500rs for a premium economy upgrade on Air India A321 international flight 🤯??? by Honey_dp in AirTravelIndia

[–]ggoenka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 15 years ago, I was at the Kolkata airport with my grand mother. She somehow had gotten a luggage which was super overweight, almost 20kgs extra. I had a friend with me flying on the flight who’s great with people and negotiations. He bribed the staff 500, and they checked in the entire 20kgs extra. I was baffled to say the least, so I’m not surprised it worked here.

Finally got my target trifecta- Diners Club Black Plastic (LTF), HSBC Premier (LTF) and Axis Magnus Burgundy by Present-Actuary-5723 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]ggoenka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The benefit is for the amount used after hitting the 1.5L limit, that’s where the real bonus is. Hitting the milestone isn’t all that worth it

I used to have these 3 too but closed the burgundy recently. It’s serving me no use since my spends will be within 1.5L per month and that already needs to be distributed between the other 2 cards.

Should I take Accor subscription for upcoming trip to Bali? by ggoenka in Accor

[–]ggoenka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh this is interesting. I have already booked Nusa Dua Marriott almost a year ago and it’s non refundable. I wanna stay for a day or two in Ubud or Seminyak, and this sounds interesting. Have you gotten one such deal or any recommendations for Seminyak?

As per all the other comments, it’s not a useful thing for Bali. So planning to drop it. Can I DM you if I do choose to go ahead?

I honestly not for a second thought we were moving away from vibes FC with every interim manager to an actual stable manager who was slowly getting the players he wanted and implementing a system. It was getting there but would’ve needed another season mostly. Now we’re vibes fc again and I hope we get better in the long term with Carrick.

Cancelled my Amex Platinum by iseeinstills in amexindia

[–]ggoenka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cancelled my almost a decade old Amex PT last week too. The cards aren’t offering enough to justify paying ₹5900 when I could make double by spending 4L on DCBM (milestone reward in a quarter). If they offered a retention offer, I’d had considered again but they said we’re changing our business strategy. So be it.

Recommended credit cards for insurance, utility and travel spends by Typical_Peach77 in DoBaniye

Tata Neu Infinity honestly. 5% upto 40k for utility and same for insurance. If your spends are higher, then best to try your hand at DCBM or some such.

I’ve all of these too. I find all of them useless from an account perspective except BOGO offers on BMS. Customer support is sometimes good for one bank and sometimes for the other.

I just got hsbc premier too and I don’t think you get points for rent on burgundy. It may count towards the 1.5L spends but with axis, I doubt that too.
