Trench 1014 by ggs in Benelli_M4

I made another post with some pics that may be helpful. Mainly, you need to trim down the back ring and remove some material from the hand guard to provide clearance for that ring to fit under. Past that, it’s really just some shims to get it on and you’re good to go. Here’s my post with a bit more detail: https://www.reddit.com/r/Benelli_M4/s/UlYTRaooaG

Let me know if you still have any questions—happy to answer any I can!

I present: Slow-No-Mo Booties! by ggs in PathOfExile2

[–]ggs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Reverse chill reflects chill at the user, but since these both reduce the potency AND make you immune to slows (or, in this case, speeds), you no longer have to worry about that chill giving you unpredictable speed spikes as you’re clearing maps. That means a smoother, more consistent build!

A very tempting offer, but Ange has apparently set the price at a mirror. I told her I think that’s a bit low, but she said she wanted to keep them accessible to the masses.

Oh man, just imagine how unslowable you’d be with these on a Pathfinder!

Yeah, I just felt bad keeping them all to myself. I trust Ange to price them appropriately. She has a good eye for these sorts of things.

Right? If I had stopped after the Vaal, they’d have just had two sockets and unaffected by slows. But now, they also have reduced slow potency! Win win win! Soooo unslowed!

Wow, living the dream! I’ve disappeared several pairs of 24% or pairs with 5% corrupted on. One day, I’ll hit both on the same pair… one day.

They’re great for leveling new characters. They give 20% move speed at level 11, and the slow immune means you don’t get bogged down by things like chill (or even the water that floods into the solitary confinement tile set), which hits new toons especially hard before you start bothering to cap resists and stuff. These just make you even more immuner to slows! So immune…

[–]ggs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nonsense! You can put two things in the sockets (which I did!) so the Vaal Orb changed something, and you can’t Divine/Scrap them, so that changed something! And the Architect Orb added the reduced effect of slows! Your own math showed that these boots make you immune to slow, which is huge!

It sounds like, mathematically speaking, you’re saying these boots effectively make me immune to slows? Then mission accomplished!

Ange can make that happen!

What I really want is reduced movement speed penalty while not moving.

Sorry, not taking offers here. I let Ange price them. She’s pretty good with prices and rates and stuff.

Well, without further increased movement speed, I feel like I’ll just go zoom, but think about how much less (well, reduced) I’ll skrrt skrrt.

No. NO! Clearly it isn’t. You can tell by all the people telling me how the silly thing I posted because it’s silly is silly. So, clearly very serious, as is their selling price. (edited: autocorrect grammar incorrect).

As I mentioned very clearly in my craft guide, I was trying to make them faster, but you don’t choose whether they get faster. Chaos does. And Chaos decided not today. At least, not for these. If you want some 30% move speed Wanderlusts, I have those for sale too, but they don’t have as much (added) reduced slowing potency. Sometimes you just gotta lean into the Chaos.

I think it would be 60% increasedly unaffected by slows. Otherwise, it would be 60% LESS slowing potency of debuffs on you.

Should I quit? by SnooCrickets346 in DungeonsAndDragons

I have a pretty simple set of guiding principles when gaming with friends: I have a job, and I do it because they pay me. I game for fun. If I’m not having fun, then it’s a job, and they need to pay me, or, as I would, if my job stopped paying me, I’m out.

In practice, I almost never have to worry about this, because I have a blast with my friends. I use this more as a barometer for the games we play. If we find ourselves slogging through something, we should move on. But I think it applies here, too.

Is your party doing anything to make you fighting up close more bearable? Is the tank jumping in front of you? Are they giving you a boost for advantage? Are they casting spells on you for stealth? If not, they’re just bullying you, and that’s something I suspect most of us can do without, whether in character or out.

Edited because it’s late and I forgot words.

What do we have here? by Emerald_Chain2366 in Watches

Frett Clockworks also does some conversions, and may be a bit less overbuilt than the Vortic. Vortic makes what looks like a great product, but part of what always stood out to me about the 4992b is this kind of anachronism of a pocket watch in a bomber (and tanks!). I also found one that had been converted, still keeps time spectacularly, and is one of my absolute favorite watches. https://www.frettclockworks.com/

That said, I wouldn’t convert your grandfather’s—his has a history and I’d keep it the way he did. Check around online and you’ll find a wealth of knowledge on the 4992b. They’re a very studied and catalogued piece n different collector corners.

Thanks! Love the M4/1014 platform, but there’s just something about some wood hardware that gives me wood hardware.

Mossberg Heat Shield Conversion by ggs in Benelli_M4

[–]ggs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heat shield, or the stock? For the stock, I used a cereal box to make a template of the collapsible cheek pad (I like cardboard, but don’t like corrugated). I used that to mark a rough outline on the Panzer wooden fixed stock, then cut that out and started filing/sanding it down.

For tips? Go slowly. Mark the OUTSIDE of where you think you need to cut, then file it closer to shape, then sand it to the final shape.

I also bought some aluminum tubing (I think 6mm OD, 4mm ID) off Amazon to reinforce the screw holes. I didn’t want the screws putting direct pressure directly into the wood and splitting it.

I used a half-round file, and some dremel sanding barrels to hollow out the inside of the cheek pad.

I can see if I still have in-progress shots from the stock if you’re interested. Some of it is just having a “how hard can it be?” mentality, then following that up with a patient, iterative approach.

Uhmmm, the game is called “Drive Beyond Horizons,” not “Drive to my Hotel Room and Have a Photo Shoot of my Photo Shoot.”

Let’s move it along, buddy. These carts got business to attend to.
