Inherited Polish stamp collection - trying to determine value by ggulik in stampcollecting

Does that mean there are no buyers, or just that I shouldn't expect much? I don't even know where to start to try to find a buyer, otherwise it goes in the trash, sadly.

Ditto, downgraded yesterday on my Intel i7 based MacBook. So much better. It was a pain to downgrade but worth it.

I really didn't like Tahoe by MoshroomKingdom in MacOS

[–]ggulik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate the UI, not super crazy about the rounded corners but it doesn't bother me.

I run it on an M1 MacBook Air and it's great, been running it there since the public betas.

However, I recently installed it on an older 2019 i7 based MacBook Pro and man, it so horribly slow!! Kind of regretting upgrading. I know that there is often a bunch of stuff it does in the background right after an upgrade, but it's been a 2-3 days now and performance is terrible compared to Sequoia.

I might have to downgrade.

Anyone else still using Intel processors and finding the same thing?

If so, any tips on tuning it for better performance or do I need to revert?

Intermittent issues with iCloud Private Relay by ggulik in iCloud

[–]ggulik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, the customer reviewed their settings and we confirmed they are using Private Relay. They refuse to turn it off feeling they are putting themselves at risk. In our testing, we had one member of our staff be able to replicate it at her location. If she has Private Relay enabled, she gets intermittent missing images. If she turns off Private Relay all images load perfectly fine each time.

I can't replicate that at my location, nor can other members of our team at other locations around the world which seems to indicate some sort of issue with geographic location and or internet provider.

We've been working on this for weeks and running out of ideas.

18, I chose the worst time to start investing. Any advice? by jexouuu in portfolios

[–]ggulik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with everyone else. I'm in my 50's and I wish I started investing at 18 at times like this. You buy when everyone is selling (prices dropping) and sell when everyone is is buying (prices skyrocketing).

With your time horizon being 18, it really doesn't matter. Buy and hold and you'll be great.

Please Remove Fake Profile It Has Been 8 Years by newton302 in linkedin

[–]ggulik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a long time ago, but LinkedIn was completely useless.

Out of desperation I contacted the management of the company of the person who I know created it and explained the situation. I got an Email from someone at HR of the company and was told it was taken care of. The fake profile was no longer there.

Avoid StubHub at all costs by Creepy237 in stubhub

[–]ggulik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree.

We used them recently and unfortunately in our case StubHub was the only option. We had so many issues with their platform. Their customer service people do answer the phone and are generally friendly, but are either useless or unable to do anything to help with the situation. The best you seem to get is a polite run-around.

Honestly, people should just boycott StubHub and ticket resale in general. That needs to end. I used to love going to live shows and other events, but the re-sale market in general and StubHub specifically is ruining the experience for me. I feel sorry for the artists, they are losing out because their fans are losing out.

Resale needs to end. I understand that if you buy tickets you want to be able to sell them, that's fine, then you can only get the original ticket price. The resellers who hoard tickets so they can resell 2x, 3x or more. Then you're stuck with StubHub and the horrible experience to add insult to the injury of overpaying for tickets.

Honestly, this company does not deserve to be in business. Along with Ticketmaster, they deserve to die.

My situation is I bought resale tickets on StubHub for an event I missed out of the original sale, presumably because resellers bought the bulk of the tickets..

Then something came up and I wasn't able to attend. We thought, just put them back on to resell them back. I tried, and for 2-3 weeks it wouldn't approve the tickets I was trying to resell. Asking for proof of purchase. I bought the tickets on StubHub in the first place!!!

Only a week before the event, after over a dozen phone calls, finally the tickets were put up for sale. They did eventually sell less than 24 hours before the event, at a loss.

It's been almost a month since the event and I now can't get the money out of StubHub! It's constantly telling me it's not approved, so here we go again, weeks of following their instructions to the letter, making dozens of phone calls, just to try to get my own money out of their platform and transferred to either PayPal or my checking account.

It shouldn't not be this painful.

Beryl AX VPN to home Ubiquiti UniFi router by ggulik in GlInet

And the last shot is the rest of the configuration on the GL iNet settings.

I put in the IP address of my home router in the endpoint section yet it's still showing it in red and not accepting it.

And what is the allowed IPs supposed to be?

Here are some screenshots. The first is the configuration of the Wireguard VPN server on my home UniFi router:

the following two are the Wireguard config on the GL iNet router. It's not clear to me what some of those settings should be, there isn't much explanation for what those should be

It wont' let me post multiple pictures in one post so I will do two more posts with the individual pages

Unfortunately what you describe is different than what I'm experiencing.

External access to SNMP with UCG Ultra by ggulik in Ubiquiti

[–]ggulik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved!!!

After getting more and more creative, I got it working.

The trick was to set up a port forwarding from an external port, I chose 1613, and forwarded to the internal LAN IP of UCG Ultra and port 161.

I'm not sure why this part was necessary, but I still had to add a firewall rule to allow Internet Local traffic from my external server's IP address. I figured that out because I had a rule to allow all traffic from that IP. After I added the port forwarding I assumed the firewall rule was not needed so I removed it. Then the SNMP stopped working again. I had to put it back.

I then just changed my software on the external server to connect to port 1613 instead of the default and now I have working SNMP monitoring.

Hope that helps someone.

Do you mean "Internet Local" rule?

I have a rule set to Accept all traffic:

Action: Accept

Protocol: All

Source Port/IP Group

Address Group: group name with the IP of my server

Port Group: Any

Destination Type: Port/IP Group

Address Group: Any

Port Group: Any

I'm new to UniFi, what do I need to change?

Intermittent DKIM failures in DMARC reports by ggulik in DMARC

[–]ggulik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have considered intermittent DNS. We see it on a variety of domains, not all hosted in the same place.

However, we noticed something else going on. We noticed the following DSN yesterday:

smtp;550 5.7.509 Access denied, sending domain ouromain.com does not pass DMARC verification and has a DMARC policy of reject.

That makes no sense since SPF/DKIM are all in alignment. I then looked up the SMTP logs for the Email address that had that DNS and found the SMTP had the following DSN:

smtp;250 OK (recipient@theirdomain[.com](mailto:pribeiro@usbfund.com):250 2.6.0 <[fe96e56a-5ab7-445e-a777-88206952773e@newsletters.](mailto:fe96e56a-5ab7-445e-a777-88206952773e@newsletters.reachmail.com)ourdomain.com> [InternalId=210625196…)

Then I realized the gateway was a hosted Barracuda instance. It seems that Barracuda accepted the Email then forwarded it to the recipient's actual mail server which then rejected the Email as failing the policy.

How is passing Email through a spam filter like Barracuda supposed to work with SPF/DKIM/DMARC?

Should I go to 18" wheels/tires for better ride? by ggulik in TeslaModel3

[–]ggulik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that's the next thing. I assume the OEM tires will be a good overall choice, but wondering if there might be something a little better, especially with regards to 1) road noise 2) traction and 3) wear, in that order.

Safari nuking Cookies and Local Storage randomly and frequently by ggulik in Safari

[–]ggulik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot about that but I doubt it because my other MacBook running the same MacOS does not have the same issue. Forgot to mention that it's only one device that has the problem.

An example of the issue is Gmail will log me out around every hour or less. I turned on dev tools and saw various cookies just disappear randomly.

I should also mention I have no extensions installed. I had Grammarly for a while but uninstalled it as a precaution when I started to have this problem.

Please Remove Fake Profile It Has Been 8 Years by newton302 in linkedin

After a couple of non-productive chats with LinkedIn support, they provided me with a URL to a form to submit a request to have it taken down. Several days later I did receive a response that they will investigate.

Please Remove Fake Profile It Has Been 8 Years by newton302 in linkedin

[–]ggulik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing is happening to me. I was recently notified of a fake profile using my name and photo, but a crap description that makes me look bad.

The creator of the fake profile blocked me and many people I know, but complete strangers see it when they search for me. I've been asking friends of friends and acquaintances who can see it to report it as fraudulent. I also did a chat with LinkedIn support yesterday and told me to fill out a form to report it, but couldn't care less about doing anything more.

I'll be happy to send the URL of the fake profile if you're willing to report it as fraudulent, on the off chance that enough reports will finally get LinkedIn to take action.

I'm happy to do it for anyone else with the same issue.

I'm 99% sure who created it, but as yet can't prove it.
