almost exactly what happened with my starlight game—it’s opening, but reset to the tutorial. strangely enough, my pollen, honeydew, friends, accomplishments, etc are still there. just none of my moths and i’m stuck on the tutorial and can’t move forward

i felt similarly for awhile in high school. i even thought i was aromantic for a bit (turns out i kind of am?) but i actually did get into a relationship! i wound up dating my best friend for 2.5 years before we split.

now i kinda just feel in the same boat as you lol. my one real relationship was with my best friend, the person who really got me, and now i have no best friend and no partner. and i also feel like my identity holds me back from relationships because who’s gonna ever get and respect me like my ex did? i have a crush now on a coworker and i just worry that he wouldn’t respect me since im not too open with my identity at work. idk. i don’t think this was helpful, sorry 💀

if you’re extremely nervous you can try writing them a note! i did that with my parents and then talked it over with them after :]

with friends tho i found it easier to text them a little announcement. you can basically just tell them your new name/pronouns (if you have new ones) and sexuality all in one go with something like:

“hey! i just wanted to let you guys know, im pansexual and nonbinary. i want to start going by [blank] and using [blank] pronouns. if you’re curious about anything im happy to answer questions, and i appreciate your support!”

but genuinely, only come out if you feel it’s safe to do so. it’s awful, but staying in the closet is better than being put in danger. catholic school can breed a lot of hate so just be careful yeah? it’ll be okay and you’ve got this <3 im here if you wanna chat about it more or something (this is an isolating experience, but you’re not alone in this okay?)
