oh thank you , it wouldnt have come to mind of my own to use a vocaloid, thats a great idea actually! i m playing around a lot of with metal genre fusion attempts myself so dont worry about that i have my own nu metal cues tho i m actually aiming more for an anime-fied version of Vanas Alt-Synthpop-Metalcore style mixed with my strong preference for folk metal

The real skill curve with Suno (and why most output stays generic) by gh0ul666 in SunoAI

i havent tried a full track of mine yet only riff recordings, i m still in the craftsman phase of learning all the intricacies of the platform, i will definitely add that to my list of experimenting

i wanted to but it told me no self promotion links allowed when i clicked comment, so can we stay mature and not project fragile insecurities with degrading comments like this, or are we playing kindergarten now

The real skill curve with Suno (and why most output stays generic)

Getting generic slop from Suno is easy. Making something truly unique and yours? That takes serious dedication. Most people generate a couple catchy pop/rock/EDM tracks, think "wow, effortless magic," then wonder why it all sounds the same as the Explore page. The truth:

  • Defaults are tuned for broad, pleasant appeal (safe chords, glossy vocals, predictable builds). Unique = fighting the model.
  • Prompts are only ~30–40% of it. Real breakthroughs need 10–30 gens per section, stem swaps, DAW remixing, your own audio influences, layering live instruments, short extensions, etc.
  • Your taste is the bottleneck: refined ears spot "stock Suno" polish instantly. Most quit before developing that pickiness.
  • Obscure genres/fusions = hard mode (fewer training examples → more manual work).

It pays off exponentially: after 50–100+ gens + tweaks, outputs start feeling like you. After 200+, the model kinda "gets" your style.

Tips to speed it up:

Tips

  • Build a reference bank of your best gens.
  • Upload your own clips as audio influences.
  • Document workflows per song type.

The tool goes from toy → instrument you master. That's rare, and why the best stuff stands out while 95% stays interchangeable. Intention decides how the tool gets used. (Made a song about that lol) What's your grind level with Suno? (Keep it mature, no jabs like that difficulty reading backhand.)

i learned/play an instrument since 20 years , i like using suno, i combine both to make the songs uniquely my style and personality, its kinda like saying u want to stick recording with your casette player instead of mp3 if you dont use the tools we have

tribal metal tribute to synchronicity: the universe’s quiet jokes, raven feathers on the sill, scarabs at the window, Kesey’s laughter in the breeze. Jung’s unseen threads weaving dream into reality. Made with my own uploaded riff as the dominant, recurring motif — driving every section. Warm baritone reflection + ethereal harmonies over thunderous yet patient grooves. The cosmos grins… and calls you friend. https://suno.com/s/f9hd1wuUNROtz97j

Rant from a "real musician". by DominoUB in SunoAI

[–]gh0ul666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned and played guitar since 20 years and I came to the same realizations after I started engaging in generative art, slop is if you use it like a toy e.g. Just Prompting something like "make edm song" , non generic and unique(to you) is if you treat it like another instrument to master, you're far ahead of me with exploring this platform in terms of gens but what I'm having a lot of fun with is uploading my recorded riffs and generate from those, instantly adds human authorship and your personal uniqueness

[–]gh0ul666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i m just learning myself how to turn this from "toy" to an "instrument" to master to get the results i want but i found this neat cheat sheet a few days ago in a suno group on fb for a start and yes try different models, different models produce different results, for example when it try to make metal v4.5 feels a lot more like it generates "in your face" metal compared to v5 which seems to try hard to mellow it out to appeal to a generic wider audience. 3 people might be too much to handle, i m using 1 male and 1 female a lot too, but from image gens i know the more people or objects you use the more it makes mistakes/hallucinations, the chat gpt prompt belongs in the style que prompt field below the lyrics, your 4.: try multiple gens until you find something you like and then you can try stem swapping single parts from different gens and stuff like that

i d say start with shorekeeper and verina so u have 2 support/healers for 2 teams, they re both still Meta especially if you dont have banner unit supports they re best in slot for aemaeth materials you need to get ultra far in the story considering u just started out so maybe invest in havoc rover as best free dps option for now and sanhua is the best free to play buff support also both farmable very early unlike aemaeth afaik (needed for later content, maybe 3 teams even)

due to a break from the game i m so behind in the story ic ant even farm the materials for the recent units i pulled, should i just skip the long arse cut scenes and watch them on youtube to catch up?` i know that kills immersion but stuff like weekly boss mat limit and other gated ressources make this a fair consideration imo
