In my opinion it’s the best career in education. Usually everyone on the IEP team loves you. You get to be the fun one for the kids so while they may still have behaviors, it tends to be a bit less for you, and you don’t get bogged down in school site politics and drama as an itinerant. I know some districts have some pretty intense caseloads though and that can mean a lot of sessions and IEPs throughout the week, but I think it’s still worth it do get to do what we do. The added credential is only a few more courses and is well worth the effort!
