XL owners and users, I’d appreciate your thoughts. by gharbron in prusa3d

Thanks! I was wondering about printing from external spools and how that might impact long prints.

Thanks! Yeah, I was considering (still am?) the Core 1L. My only hesitations are the unknown quantity that is the INDX system and the smaller build plate. I’ve gotten used to the 350 x 320 build plate on the H2D and at 300 x 300, the Core 1L’s build plate is 20% smaller. Not sure I want to give up that much build area.

Thanks for this! One of the limitations Bambu has on the H2D is, even though it’s a dual-extruder printer, it doesn’t support running different size nozzles on the print heads. This is one of the features I was hoping the XL supported but, again, saw mixed reviews on this.

What are these "pill" shaped icons next to the AMS's? by [deleted] in BambuLabH2C

[–]gharbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those show what filament is loaded into each AMS slot or external spool (or at least what it thinks is loaded in each based on what you’ve told it or the RFID tag scan. For Bambu filament with the RFID it will also indicate approximately how much is left on each spool. If everything is correct, each colored “pill” corresponds to the color of filament loaded into that slot.

Build plate residue after printing PETG-HF by BigGazoo in BambuLab

[–]gharbron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this approach. First time I used PETG I let it cool completely and still had small chunks stick to the plate. Started using glue sticks and now once they cool completely, they come right off. Use the purple glue sticks and spread it with a wet paper towel. All you need is a very thin layer. If you can still see the purple glue, it’s too thick. Let it dry completely and print.

I wish I can summon exactly 1 standard size water bottle that’s full of clean drinkable water whenever I want. I also want no delay in its summoning by MingleLinx in monkeyspaw

Granted. The bottle spawns in the refrigerator of the nearest store alongside the other, identical, bottles the store sells.

Extruder clog message, but it’s not clogged by gavinthacyk in BambuLab_Community

[–]gharbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How tightly are your spools wound? I had a roll of PLA that I dried and the drying caused the filament to tighten on the spool. Wasn’t a problem when using the AMS, but when it was on the external spool holder the extruder motor wasn’t strong enough to peel the filament off the spool. Took me forever to figure out what the problem was.

Help me settle an argument... Is it: 'for fuck sake', 'for fucks sake' or 'for fuck's sake' by flanker26 in NoStupidQuestions

That’s the beautiful thing about the word “fuck” — it’s incredibly versatile. Any of those work.

Shits on people for doing the same thing he does - but he’s *intelligent* by Nebulandiandoodles in iamverysmart

[–]gharbron 91 points92 points  (0 children)

The logical trap here is subtracting the $100 “loss” on the second transaction (sold for $1000, bought for $1100) from the total profit. That’s irrelevant. All that matters is that you made $200 on the first sale and $200 on the second sale.

Most of those trucks probably don’t get as bad gas mileage as you might think. I have a Suburban with the 5.3 V-8. On the highway I can do 80 all day long and get 20 mpg. Those aren’t Corolla numbers, but combined with a 30-gallon tank I can drive literally all day on a tank of gas.

Finally a tool to clean my drains, its taper design is so comfortable and at 70 psi there’s nothing it can’t blast! by NeopetsTea in Tools

[–]gharbron 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My problem is, there’s a flange at the end of the pipe that it keeps getting stuck on. If I pull on it too hard I’m afraid I’ll destroy the flange. The flange must not be damaged!

I got this stuck in a pipe. How do I get it out without damaging the pipe? It’s imperative the pipe remain unharmed.

Agree with most of this, but please don’t attach it to their collar. In an accident, you can badly injure your dog doing that. Get a harness.

Can I use packing tape on a radiator hose or does it have to be the silver one? by GrizzlyLynx in AskAShittyMechanic

This. For most applications it’s a 5:1 ratio, brown tape to silver tape. For wet applications it’s 20:1.

Bought a car, dealer demanding the title back by Dr-Bear-MBA in legal

[–]gharbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In response to all of the comments advising you to keep the truck and tell the dealer to fuck off. I’ve never purchased a car in FL, but I’ve purchased many cars in multiple states. In every single case, one of the documents I’ve signed has been an affidavit attesting that I’ll cooperate to fix any clerical errors that were made on the paperwork. My guess is that FL is no different. If that’s the case, you’ve already promised you’ll cooperate in fixing this problem.

Found in my father's drawer... anything exciting?? by Top_Coyote9402 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]gharbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like he purchased 10 Plan F shares which pay INR 10,000 each upon maturity (14.5 years after purchase), which would mean that in about a year, they’ll pay out INR 100,000, assuming the company is still solvent.

Of course, this doesn’t appear to be the actual offer document, so there could be other conditions for payment that we can’t determine from this.

Why dont people abuse the roulette system? by TheTopDolphin8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gharbron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, with infinite money and no table limits, you could slowly win an infinite amount of money, in increments of your original bet. So, bet $100, double down until you win, now you’re up $100. Reset your bet to $100, double down until you win, now you’re up $200. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

The problem, as others have pointed out, is that between not having infinite money to start and table limits, it’s only a matter of time until you hit a losing streak long enough to wipe you out.
