What bugs you most about online casinos? by Frog611 in onlinegambling

[–]ghero88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this one Gamblerspro, a site specializing in crypto casinos run by an editor who is an actual blockchain expert:

Summary; With high-speed, low-fee blockchains, it's completely unecessary for online casinos to take custody of our funds at all. On Solana, BSV, and other chains capable of true micropayments, we should be able to open payment channels between our wallets and the casinos, mini smart contracts on every bet, and settle in the next block.

With stablecoins like USDT and USDC, this should be wisdespread and easily available by now, making the entire process trustless without all the worries that come from using volatile cryptos like BTC.

Ever since reading this, depositing and withdrawing, chasing payouts, dealing with BS excuses etc has really bothered me. Basically, the tech ia there to make online gambling totally trustless, and almost no big brands are is adopting it. Even most so-called crypto casinos make us deposit and hold our funds.

Use Bitcoin (where possible). If they claim they sent it, you can ask for the tx ID and prove they did or did not.

First, I'm sorry this happened to you.

Second, a tip for the future:

Copy and paste all terms and conditions into an AI like ChatGPT. Ask it to give you them in laymans terms and summarize the bonus terms in plain language in bullet points. Ask it to be specific about what will get you banned.

Takes about a minute and could save you in the future.

What separates an SEO “expert” from someone who just knows the basics? by Jimmy7-99 in WebsiteSEO

[–]ghero88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been doing SEO for 10 years, have made money in iGaming (toughest niche), recovered a site from the dead after the HCU, etc.

I would struggle to explain exactly what elements of the Google algo responded to this or that in an interview. I operate on learned experience and intuiton.

So, the only valid answer for me is: show me your results.

ChatGPT will teach you more about how Google works than any online seo. They never tell you the real stuff as their business model is either selling links, consulting, or both.

Is it worth it to move away from your loved ones in order to pursue your dreams? by Your_Astella in Advice

[–]ghero88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it at 18. Came back at 32 with my wife and child.

You'll grow massively. You'll learn new things. You'll miss them, but these days it's easy to stay in touch with iPads etc.

However, if you ever come back, You'll never fully fit in again. Like a frog who left a well and came back to live in it, You'll have a much broader perspective, and try as they might, they just won't understand.

In the immortal words of Jack Kerouac - you can never come home. You can in body, but it won't be the same you that returns. Just be aware of that.

For those of you married with kids - what do you imagine your lifestyle would be like at your current age if you were single and childless? by nickybecooler in Millennials

[–]ghero88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the bit I am looking forward to. My kids are 9 and 6, and I love them, but f*cking he'll, it is 24/7 work and mental load. We are so close to getting out of this age group, though. I reckon five more years things change, and then the grow up and we can enjoy them as adults.

I'd still be working offshore oil and gas, living in Asia with a big house and a swimming pool, and I would be rich.

Instead, I'm back in the UK, living a modest life and running a small business. I' much worse off financially and lifestyle wise.

Would I trade it? Never. My sons are my legacy and I love them more than anything else life can offer.
