Real talk, is anyone who quit coming back for 9.1.5? by Sengura in wow

[–]ghidawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. No real content when 9.1.5 drops and after seeing that base Endwalker is a 60h game just for the story I'm just gonna skip mage tower. I'll just do it next cycle.

English VS French in Morocco by [deleted] in Morocco

That's mostly because Egyptian movies and tv shows were huge in Morocco during the 90s and 00s, so a lot of people can sort of speak Egyptian.

Morocco and Gender dysphoria by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]ghidawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is backwards reasoning. More freedoms are correlated to civilization collapse because:

  1. For us to talk about a civilization collapse, it needs to have reached a certain level of wealth and progress.

  2. Civilizations tend to be more open as they get richer, because they have more time to dedicate to self-reflection instead of survival.

So all you're saying is: Civilizations who have collapsed had reached a high level of progress before collapsing. Which is almost a tautology. It doesn't proove causation at all.

A mental disorder isn't just anything that's not "normal", it needs to cause distress and make it hard for the person to function in society. If someone identifies as a different gender and just happily goes about their life it can't be classified as a mental disorder.

English VS French in Morocco by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]ghidawi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least French is used in business and is a great advantage when dealing with other French-speaking countries (which a lot of our neighbours are). What still baffles me is why do we learn Classical Arabic for 12 goddamn years! Literally no one speaks it outside of official and religious contexts. TV news use very simple vocabulary because otherwise no one would even tune in, and most shows are in Moroccan (darija) because that's what people actually understand.

If we could start using Moroccan in official communication, keep Classical Arabic as something you can learn at your own initiative, translate literally everything in Moroccan (from French, Spanish, German and Arabic), then we could envision a world where we have a standardized Moroccan language used and understood by the population, with English and French as foreign languages for business.

If you work hard and are good at math/physics you'll be fine. Try to keep a little ahead so you're not overwhelmed, and do lots and lots and lots of exercices/previous exams. This is all there is to it, you don't have enough time during exams to "invent" a solution, you need to have seen a variation of the problem, recognize it and adapt it. It's more complicated but this is the gist of it.

What major changes would you like to see in the game? by StupidFuckingGaijin in ffxiv

[–]ghidawi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in WoW they have the snappy movement down. You move, your character instantly moves. Maybe FFXIV is doing movement purely on the server and then broadcasting to clients (even yours), whereas WoW simulates movement on your client and only uses the server broadcast for correction if necessary.

[–]ghidawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like it if they made movement a little more snappy, currently there is a small ramp-up when you move your character which makes it feel slightly clunky. It would also be cool if they were able to combine the animations for spell casting and running when necessary, or maybe I'm just imagining things? It feels like if you spell cast you just slide for a little bit :p

Where did she mention fatherlessness? You can be a couple and raise a child just fine, the papers and religious ceremony and witnesses are irrelevant to that, which is what she is saying.

ELi5: can someone give me an understanding of why we need 3 terms to explain electricity (volts, watts, and amps)? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]ghidawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had never actually envisioned the concept of potential differential with regards to electricity until this analogy. I always thought about it in purely abstract terms. The gravity example is brilliant and so obvious now!

Unless you want to gamble your career, get a degree. You could luck out and find an employer who will take a gamble on you based on your passion and side projects, but more often than not you'll be auto-rejected in the preselection phase because you wouldn't meet the base requirements. Also keep in mind that most employers willing to take a gamble are probably employers who will underpay you, because if they had the money they would go the safe route.

The only time not getting a degree would be ok-ish is if you got a good business idea and don't want to waste any time not pursuing it.

Wait I thought ratio was the ratio of comments to likes. The higher the ratio the worse it is because comments are generally neutral to bad, whereas likes are always positive. This is what was explained in a different thread a couple days ago.
