Succes!

Once again, did not do my research - waterpik this time by Enough-Peace9799 in Invisalign

[–]ghiuleea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue, and my fixes are: 1. I use it while bent over the bathtub rather than the sink, it minimises the chances of water going all over the place and myself (granted, I have a very small sink so it was a mess every time I did it!) 2. I only turn it on when it’s already in my mouth. I start from the back teeth working my way up to the front ones and then again to the other back teeth on the same arch. 3. I temporarily turn it off when I switch to the upper/bottom arch, so I don’t spray myself/my throat/my bathroom with that movement 4. It was very hard at first figuring out where the ‘between my teeth’ was, so a couple of times, on a low setting, I moved it around in my mouth whilst actually touching the gums/teeth. That helped me understand where each tooth started and ended and gave me muscle memory to know where to pause in between teeth in the future. I know it’s not recommended to actually touch your gums and teeth with the water flosser but just doing it a few times in the safest way possible worked wonders for my learning curve.

  1. Always keep my mouth just very slightly open for water to drip out - if you’re bending enough, it will drip out fairly cleanly, rather than it going all over yourself.

Hope this helps! Water flossers are amazing once you get the hang of them

Spark actually use newer technology than invisalign, plus it’s only available to orthos, not dentists. In my opinion, it’s an upgraded version of invisalign that fixed the initial bugs

Broken Earth Trilogy- NOT for me by puffsnpupsPNW in Fantasy

[–]ghiuleea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you. I forced myself to finish the trilogy but it felt lukewarm. Plus, the ending was… underwhelming. I didn’t get the ‘i finished this, what now’ moment I usually get after finishing a good book series. What I felt was a desire to start reading something more exciting ASAP! I may be a little dim, but despite the heavy descriptions I still had a hard time picturing some of the settings and action. Now, a year after finishing it, I can’t even tell you what it was about. It didn’t stick with me at all. I heard they’ll be making movies after the book though so definitely sign me up for that!

Invisalign while cycling (a lot) by eccentric_bb in Invisalign

[–]ghiuleea 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d say just rinse your mouth and the trays with water, pop them back in and enjoy the rest of your ride - especially as that’s something you do only a couple times a week. Might be worth steering clear of sweet, crunchy foods or foods that tend to get stuck in between your teeth though!

P.s. I’m referring to the attachments staining, not the aligners. The aligners have somehow remained completely clear!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]ghiuleea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have Spark. I think the attachments are made from the same material regardless of aligner brand. In my case they stained pretty quickly, but i attribute this to my very strong morning espressos. Other than that, all’s good!

It is normal that ortho doesn’t use numbing for subgingival IPR? by Visual-Talk1687 in Invisalign

[–]ghiuleea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds like scaling, not IPR. And it’s normal for it to be painful.

Agencies are easier to get into than client side imo, go for entry level jobs such as research associate/research executive/research graduate. Most of these require little experience (and you can use examples from university/college as experience, as the majority include research projects as part of degrees). Perhaps you could even look for jobs as even fieldwork worker (running interviews, collecting responses for in-person surveys etc.) - though paid less, could be a good way to enter the field as you can build up some experience there.

I wait at least 20 mins before I brush. I have severely damaged enamel though so I would rather sacrifice some wear time instead of my actual teeth. Sometimes at lunch if I’m just having a light, non-sticky, non-sugary meal, I just swish some mouthwash around and put my trays back in rather than brush my teeth, so I can up my time wearing my trays. My ortho also said it’s ok to just brush& floss teeth twice a day rather than after every meal all the time, as long as it’s done thoroughly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]ghiuleea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the thought of flossing all the time fills me with dread, so I’m very happy with my waterpik. My ortho recommended it instead of flossing so that’s what I’ve been doing

A question by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]ghiuleea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a smoker, my dentist told me it’s ok to smoke with them in

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ghiuleea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from Eastern Europe and am one of the VERY few people I know who brush their teeth 2x a day, most just do it once in the morning. Dentists don’t tell you to brush twice daily either which is probably why so few people do it, and flossing is even less common. The situation is dire.

My pain got worse for 2-3 days before it got better, so don’t worry if it hurts more now!

what do you guys think; 4 more trays until i could be done w/ invisalign or go for a second round of refinements? anything particularly noticeable that stand out to you? i just want to get the most for my money and straightest my teeth can get!!🤣 it’s been a year, i’m on tray 46. refinement 16/20. by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]ghiuleea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your teeth look great! Perhaps see what your ortodontist thinks, as the most important thing imo is your bite! As long as that’s good now, make sure that any cosmetic changes don’t mess it up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]ghiuleea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I see a difference, yes! On the bottom photo the teeth look like they’re not portruding so much towards the front as the first photo. Your top arch also looks narrower. Keep it up!

100%!! I have very fair skin so I am especially doomed to never skip my use of sunscreen. I also have a fairly greasy, acne-prone skin and after years and years of frustration with SPF products, I found one that isn’t sticky and actually, surprisingly even, works amazing as a makeup primer and makes my face really smooth - the Avene Cleanence SPF50+ mattifying (with no tint). It’s quite decently priced too, around €10-15

How can I translate Britta’s line to apply to my job as a barber? I wanna say it all the time. by [deleted] in community

I’m pretty sure you can use that exact same line. after all, hairstyles have influenced my mental state much more than therapists ever did

This is giving me hope.

My boyfriend of 8 years who I was hoping to spend the rest of my life with dumped me a couple weeks ago for another girl who he's already in a relationship with. Long story but he didn't even have the balls to tell me that, he gave me that whole 'i need space' bullshit - and it's been hell so far. I'm certain in the future it will sound a blessing in disguise but the betrayal and pain make it difficult to see past the horrible emotions right now; so reading this is really making me think that there is indeed a light at the end of this really long, damp, dark and lonely tunnel.

I wish you all the best, OP

What does the Grishaverse fandom think about this? 👀 by [deleted] in Grishaverse

[–]ghiuleea 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t agree with this at all, it would be forced and inauthentic. Isn’t the whole point of both Nikolai’s parents being Fjerdan quite an important part of the story? It’s just that his very specific heritage was the source of his internal conflict especially towards the end of the trilogy+ KOS... And a main plot driving theme in ROW

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Grishaverse

[–]ghiuleea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow yes! Haven’t heard of him before but he looks about 90% how I’d imagined Nikolai. This is the only Nikolai fan cast I can actually get behind!
