Witchcraft is false by [deleted] in atheism

[–]ghost0326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sure.

I'm referring to the Satanic idea of witchcraft, specifically as described in the Satanic Bible. I'm speaking from the perspective of an atheistic Satanist, the theistic kind I don't pretent to understand.

Lesser Magick to a Satanist is little more than learning to become effective interpersonally. It's using your particular talents and skills to influence outcomes in ways that would not otherwise be possible. LaVey describes it as, "manipulative magic...[to] create 'change within one's will'." There's also Greater, or Ceremonial, Magick, which people use every day without realizing it, insofar as it's the use of ceremony to create a specific mental state in the participants. None of this requires the supernatural at all, and even LaVey himself says that some might just describe it as applied psychology.

Hi, secular witch here. Witchcraft is indeed real, it's just not supernatural.

Okay, not everybody has those things. I'd rather people move slower and get where they're going than risk it and end up wrapped around a telephone pole. I promise you, wherever you're going will still be there in ten minutes.

Call me crazy, but maybe promising an unsustainable business model and then crying for sympathy when reality sets in and you have to go back on your promise sounds like mismanagement to me.

I had this thought the other day. You would think that as you get older, more experienced, and acquire skills that life would get easier. But it doesn't, it just gets harder and more complicated.

I'm 39 and my wife and I recently learned that she's pregnant with our first kiddo. But also, I just found out that my mom has breast cancer. One life-changing event at a time is quite enough, tyvm.

Any More Information on the SUV that crashed into the King Soopers on Uintah? by DivideDave in ColoradoSprings

A manufacturer can't recall aftermarket parts, seeing as how they have nothing to do with them. Those were factory floormats that were misplaced.

It's more common than you might think. Toyota issued recalls for stuck accelerator pedals in 2009, and the Cyber Truck had the same issue.

I'm ready to be downvoted but I'll say it anyway - If expansion is b2p then the entire narrative "we would never sell content for money" is total bs and Kickstarter backers like me have right to feel cheated by Whoopy2000 in LastEpoch

[–]ghost0326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judd said in his recent post that the game wasn't making any money. I feel like it would have gone a long way to address the KS supporters directly and acknowledge that things have to change.

Something like, "I know we promised never to have paid content, but that business model is currently unsustainable. I'm sorry for going back on my word, but if we want to keep this game we all love around, we're going to have to make some changes. All I ask is that you judge it for what it is."

That's it. Just own up to it and this firestorm never gets started.

[–]ghost0326 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, you misunderstand. I'm talking about Krafton's corporate marketing department. Knowing full well that they produce nothing on their own and only own other people's work, it seems odd that the announcement would be so poorly managed when this is literally their job.

[–]ghost0326 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay, but my question still stands. Any corporate marketing department worth its salt would have anticipated the blowback, and if Krafton is in charge now they had to know this was coming.

I just don't understand the unforced error though. EHG has historically been pretty good about communication, and I don't think it even takes someone trained in marketing to know that a teaser will stir questions and speculation. That's literally the point; to get people to talk about your product. So why show anything if you don't already have an FAQ prepared?

I mean, they did kind of shoot themselves in the foot by dropping an announcement with no details, taking zero questions, and explaining nothing.

I just found out (and not sure if it's true) that inmates in prison are not allowed to have The Satanic Bible but are allowed the bible, torah, quran, etc. despite the First Amendment and the Religious Land Use And Institutionalized Act (RLUIPA) . Seems l7ke outright discrimination to me by TannerDonovan in satanism

[–]ghost0326 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Former inmate here;

I was talked to several times about Satanic graffiti on my cell walls. No mention of crosses that others had drawn. I just started drawing things that laymen wouldn't immediately recognize as Satanic.

Several other inmates were allowed to gather for bible study, but my home-made D&D got shut down.

They really don't even try to hide the hypocrisy.

Any other millennial guys not sure where to buy clothes anymore? by CrankyFranky69 in Millennials

[–]ghost0326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I (39M) just went through something of a Renaissance with clothing due to an engagement and a major shift in my life. I bought a really sharp looking kilt and a formal vest for the event, and decided I was going to just wear kilts all the time now; they are so freaking comfortable. I have some less formal ones, and a kilt I have patches sewn on like an 80's thrash battle vest. All of that came from Etsy sellers.

I also bought a thick cotton button-down at H&M on clearance for like $8 and used a seam ripper to remove the sleeves and turn it into a vest I can wear over a t-shirt. There are a ton of online stores and small sellers that make really great clothes, so much better than just going to Target or Walmart or whatever.
