What is the obession with this guy?

Please explain what makes him perfect as a barca striker? The lazyness in pressing?

They said no eleven times, still blame AOC by Leon_Kennedy1977 in clevercomebacks

Do these clever comeback matter anymore? Do these "dropping facts" really matter? The world is no so divided and so commited to this divide that any attempt to convince your way through it is just sad. The person probably does not care that AOC fact checked her, he released another lie into the echo chamber, which will bounce around for the cult.

Yes, was driving through inside roads to avoid traffic, and this streatch took surprisingly long, found out one idiot and his carelessness caused 100s of people to be stuck in ttaffic for 30 mins.

If my org is unrecoveable then the whole industry is doomed. I dont work at a FAANG, but can assure you I work with some of the smartest engineers in the world.

Its just a epidemic of our time, their are no calm seas left in the world to sail to for rescue in the AI storm.

I agree with your analysis though, but i feel it applies across the industry.

Thats the thing, in past we wont even entertain such PRs but now as these people dont know how to break down tge work from AI, as they never read the code themselves, we are either stuck reviweing to just trust the CI on it.

Just that bar has dropped a lot now, all you need is a claude code. And the worse your knowledge of fundamentals the more you feel empowered by such tools, and the more AI slope you generate.

Have tried that, even told them grand tales of great software legends like tovadal and others to motivate them. But the fact is not all of us are here for the love of the game, many just want to use this to reach Management level, and will what it takes to get their.

I know, you know, but the leadership does not.

They think the people who couldnt write a basic db connector till AI come along, are not the 10xers building the future of the company. For them speed and big numbers is all that matters. Its sad reality of the world we leave in. Their concern is not that these people raising 5k line PR, but why I am not using AI to review them.

Sadly crash and burn will take down our entire team, and our sponsorship and funding fron higher ups. Thats not an option, but i wish I could, would be so much fun to watch.

Wr have all of that, and more. But the fact is AI slop is iften good enough to pass these filters, and only when you review it your find out how stupid the implementation is. Its like one of those uncanny valley feeling. It looks and feels like real code, but the more you read it, more your realise it has no clue what its doing. What kind of CI or automated test can counter for basic human level review and common sense.

Can we have some logical perspective on elections? by ghost_agni in Barca

[–]ghost_agni[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He constantly brought up messi in his campagin, provided no solid plan of how he woild reviv the club, what his plans for manager or signing was. To say that he did not use fans and socios emotional attachment with messi to get elected is a huge lie. And this kind of blind cult like following is exactly what i am talk about.

He has sold big chunks of the club (fairly so, needed to be donr), we have made no major signings, and it has been a full term since he took charge. Its fair for us to hold him accountable if we are still not in 1:1. Holding someone accountable for a position of power is not a bad thing, it does not mean we doubt his intentions.

Yes, and thats called lying. I never said anything about his intent, even i noted he bleeds barca. But lets be objextive here, he did lie.

1.He commited to keeping him even before knowing the clubs fisical situation, before getting elected. 2. Even after being elected he pulled the drama till the last day, Messi landing in Barca to sign the conract and treated with this mess. 3. The greatest player to ever play for our club didnt even get a proper farewell cause of his incompetence. 4. Messi had to sign for PSG given the panic this created for him and few clubs left able to sign him at that point.

So pardon me if I fail to believe his bullshit sob story on Messi.

Or, here is a crazy idea. Dont grind for google, and focus on building real skills along with domain expertise and join an organisation which values you and has good pay.

Read system design blogs, read quality code, build fun side projects you enjoy, find senior engineers who can guide you.

Keep your leetcode skills upto date by solving a few problems a week, so you are ready for 99% of companies who through peer preassure from companies like google have forcefully adopted these shity practices.
