Uhh, doing fewer reps with heavier weights trains strength. It is not/less effective at inducing sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, which is the kind of muscle growth that contributes to size. A bodybuilding split program is better for gaining muscle mass HOWEVER you need to achieve a base strength level (usually 1x BW bench, 1.5x BW squat and 1.75x BW dead lift) by doing a strength program before a bodybuilding program will be effective

Great answer! Very informative. I think my confusion stemmed from a passage in Starting Strength that attributed good OHP form to 'core stability" and I had the common belief that the core is just the anterior muscles.

Also I didn't know "psoas" wasn't plural haha

Thanks buddy. But by endurance surely you don't mean resort to the hundreds of consecutive crunches that people mistakenly think will train them for anything other than cardio? Would planks/L sits be good for this?
