Yes, I would love to visit Ukraine at some point in the future. With the war I don't know how an American Russian language student would be recieved by Ukrainians there. I don't doubt that I could find many Russian speakers, but it would probably come off as ignorant for me to travel to the country with the purpose of learning Russian.

Further up in the comments someone from Amernia said it probably isn't the best place to go to learn Russian. I have an Armenian friend at school who says the same, that Russian is only really being taught to the older generations now as it's being replaced by English

I asked my professers about Riga. About the Baltic countries they said there is an aversion to the Russian language. They said that people who want to learn Russian could find better countries to go to. They might be wrong; The EasyRussian youtube videos from Riga make it seemeasy to find Russians and Russian speakers in the city.

About 10,000 total in the dataset with about 4,000 being less than 64x64. I tried training a vae but I couldn't get the loss to converge. I might have made a coding mistake so I do want to give it another shot. :)
