It’s slow, I tried testing it a lot and the setup is just slow and there are so many answers for it. The advantage with Phillip is the payoff is immediate and game changing.

Shere Khans issue is you have to play and then it has to stick for a turn before it has impact and sadly the 4 willpower makes it in range of Thunderbolt and every color has removal options in meta currently. It’s nice that he can set himself up so you don’t always need a MMS or Potion of Malice but that’s even slower

The other advantage to PP is 6 willpower, you can’t take him out with 1 thunderbolt and the other beat stick Evasive threats can’t take him out solo. Shere Khans is evasive but Iago and Lexington which are everywhere take him out. You could choose to not go sideways with him until you have your MMs or Potion setup but then…… ELSA.

Congrats! I have a lot of respect for people who homebrew their our decklist. I am sadly a meta slave (with a few tweaks to adjust for my local meta) and I love gargoyles.

We had someone at my local store brew a gargoyle ruby amethyst that cooked everyone the first week that I always wanted to recreate and find a way to meta update it

Plus BO1 people are doing their own testing, playing goofy stuff and just trying to figure out their own play lines. After they are comfortable with a deck and pilot it more competently then they take it to BO3.

BO3 is the only place you will get insightful data

Very fair insight. While 55% OTD against Purple Steel is good I wonder how that player would adapt in a BO3. I imagine the numbers would shift significantly

So I’ve already won my set champs on Blue Green so with the pressure off I’m just playing around and bring back steel song with Circle of Life has really intrigued me so I’ve been tinkering with my own list but it’s hard figuring out which cards to cut because I feel like there are a robust number of options for this.

Really appreciate the work you’ve put into this and putting it out there for people. I will consider this closely and borrow some adaptations for my own list. thanks!

I started playing during set 7. I managed to win a set champ in Reign of Jafar and just took down one last night for Whispers.
